Re: '71 notch master cylinder

I've successfully used an early Golf Mk1 master cylinder on a Type 3 equipped with the standard discs.

The pedal is a little harder, but the braking is much improved, BUT it has to be bled very carefully.

Re: What would you guys do with this?

I'm after a Notchback, so want to flog this one. If anyone is interested, please drop me a mail on blitzvw@gmail.com. I do not want a lot of money for the car, more interested in it going to a safe home where it will be restored...so far all the inquiries that i've had for the car locally were for p...

Re: What would you guys do with this?

So - the project has officially started! Stripped out the interior, the OG upholstery is still in very good condition...So gave it a thorough clean and put away in safe storage....This car was from a very dry part of SA, so it is still absolutely straight... Basic plan - Firstly give front end a tho...

Re: What would you guys do with this?

Yup it is in SA. SA only had Type 3s until '69. All models, except '69 Autos, were wide 5. Well, a fellow Type 3 enthusiast had a look at the car over the weekend and said that it is very much doable, was never hit in the front so is still quite solid. I'll start collecting parts for it after June, ...

Amazing - never seen a 5-bolt Fastback then two come along in within a couple of weeks of each other. Nice dry country to keep the rust away, but big distances to cover instead. Most UK Type 3s never had an engine rebuild, they just rusted away - only the survivors have made it to a rebuild. Yeah a...
