Have a few mirrors not needed but not sure what they are all off,type 3 and beetle I think

Bought this for my 1972 crossover bay but its the wrong one
Someone has mentioned it could be for a type 3?
Had one on my old early square but didn't take a note of the badge i d plate

Ive just seen these newly listed today item number 221298774018 they are listed as new old stock in original boxes type number 311 919 051 ive just bought one and I think there are 2 more left Not cheap but I need a fuel guage that works and at least I hope this one will work better than a used one ...

It was done in 2pk not the new water based ones as they need to be lacquered I did try to get some of the 1k acrylic it was painted in when new but couldn't find a supplier The local bodyshop supplier I use just mixed it up on site If you wanted to paint it yourself you can still buy cellulose but w...

Ive been looking into it and im sure theres too much side to side play on the lever,so i think its the bushes , I just need to find out if theres a few box variations and what ones are the easiest to get at to change as i will do those 1st

I've only just got it actually motd and on the road and waned to put a few miles on it
I'm using it everyday as my only for of transport at the moment and was hoping there might be a easy adjustment

Hi Is there any linkage adjustment on a 1968 type 3, ive been told it did have a later type replacement box from the original owner.Its fine but wont go into 2nd ,once in its ok nbut it normally goes into 4th instead,seems worse when changing up than down but not 100% certain on this It was ok when ...

Ive put the same one on mine,one of the fittings that bolts onto the heat exchanger was out of line a fair amount but managed to ease the pipe up and clamp it it sounds nice though :) What was the silver ducting you used mines on but it was a bit too small and sits very close to the exhasut itself s...

Iam about to order a tri-mil for mine ,which again involves losing the 2 small preheat boxes and making ducting
Does this lose much heat ? and can you use anything for the new ducting or does it have to be metal not plastic

annoyingly i have a really long length of that caravan stuff,but its 24mm inside

Before the engine goes back in I want to replace the hoses they are 30mm and 26mm black ribbed with aluminium under the outer coating rang a few places and tried local motor factors and a heating flue wholesaler but no luck anyone have any ideas ? engine out today,it was a bit of a pain to get the cables and heat pipes off as they were nicely rusted on Managed to get a 1/4 of a turn on the head bolts on one side until it reached 23lbs so fingers crossed once ive got to the other side they need doing too,it closed all the valve gaps up so it m...

I did wonder ! its the same as my Ami with a 2cv engine then,no gaskets Do you think the tickover would sound fine then if the head was leaking? well cut the box off in the end,will have to borow a set of oxy/ac next week to try and get the 45mm nuts off as theres no way they are budging Worse thing is I think the silencer is probably ok,well it was until i ruined it.! any tricks for getting the silencer nuts undone
as they are rusted in nicely - im awaiting a pair of stilsons and will be having another go at it
