Thanks, Rachel
You should be able to order it from your local VW main dealer.

Re: MOT time - Bloody windscreen washers!
I saw that post yesterday whilst doing some research. I actually book marked it hoping that it would come in handy. My washer switch is on the stalk on the steering wheel column. How would I go about doing that? Pics of how you mounted the motor would be great if you have a spare moment. Thanks Mar...

Roof colour?
Does anyone know if VW ever officially offered any of the Type 3 range with a roof colour different to the main body colour? I'm sure I've seen this before but not sure if it was an after market thing or factory, I quite like the idea myself!

Re: Main dealer parts!
Hi Peter,
Yeah, The dealer is quite glad I know the numbers when I go in saves them going through the old diagrams! I didn't know the 'c' meant classic parts, I'll remember that, I've got some bits coming from the Classic Parts Centre, it's an 8 week lead time at the moment!

Re: Typ3 Variant 3rd time lucky?
That's interesting Dave, they are a rare beast on UK roads, according to the history of the car it was exported TO Germany(?!) before first registration in the UK and then brought back in 1974. What does the L spec have over a standard car? I know mine has a fresh air fan and chrome window beading n...

Main dealer parts!
As some of you may know I'm in the procces of restoring my 72 Typ3 variant L and being a bit of a stickler for originality I'm trying to use as many genuine parts (new preferably but second hand if cost/unavailability is a problem!) So I check with my local main dealer first, (I've got an old copy o...

Heater channel questions!
A couple of questions on heater channels! 1. Do they have a duct that directs hot air up to the windscreen (like beetles have)? As the replacement ones I've seen on line don't seem to have this facility. 2. Does anyone have experience of the replacement ones available? Are they a good fit? And do yo...

Sounds like a lucky escape! Hope the NOS one is in good shape, might be worth speaking to a friendly MOT garage after fitting it and asking them to test the brakes on their rolling bake tester machine.

Re: Chassis, wheels & interior black parts colour codes?
Thanks Dave! I've checked with the POR-15 website and if it's overcoated when there is 'finger drag' on the paint it will over coat, if left to cure then a prepriotary undercoat has to be used.
Frost auto restoration has some good info on POR-15 too
