Hi cheers for your praise ,I work on a car body shop 4 days ,aweek the other day doin resto stuff for spooky club members and freinds would do it all the time if could make it pay ,also do a lot of engine builds and such likes ...

Hi I can remember I used a vice set at the correct width then gently hammers them inwith a 10 mm deep reach snap on socket ,then gentley bent the swage into it ,then tidyed up with a small air grinder and dremmel... Wow this car was owned by a mate a few years back he bought it and put it in a shed and looked at it for a few years then moved it on , had a type 4 engine in it that ran real ruff and pissed fuel out of the carbs.. How many owners it had now was high when he had it ... Be nice to see it back on roa...

Hi sills are very structural also there are 3panels in all ,have look in readers rides at my post (72 auto sqaure) for a blow by blow look at how I replaced them.

hi havin just removed the second bonnet spring thought id ask if there is any easy way to get them back on ,vw had a set way to fit bug deck lid springs with out damage to vehicle and fitter ..
Is it mentioned in the bentley manuals ..

managed to sqeeze in a few hours over weekend ,gappin n/s wing and door, door and wing not great at to because the glass is not quite the rite shape and gap was very small... sanded out the gap but door sat in about 6 mm hard to see in pics.. http://www.spookyvw.org.uk/gallery/albums/userpics/10003/...

hi havnt had a chance to get near it for ages rebiult 3 engines one gearbox over christmas period always busy for me ,now the missis wants me to decorate so hopfuly next couple of weeks and im back on....

still here nothing to report ,to cold to many sets of grand parents to visit etc ,plus broke my split engine ...

more clothes a micro fibre cloth for the screen and chain smoke and also 1/4 lite open works for me in my split....
