Re: Largest tyres for rear on Fastback?

I'm running 195/65s on 5.5 rims on my lowered squareback. No issues with them at all. I like the fat thin look with the 145s on the front.

Re: Got myself a '69 Savanah Beige Squareback

:D Nope not really, I've been saving to buy the other bits n pieces I need for the motor, I do now have a pair of twin 40DRLAs with the correct (hopefully!) CB short manifolds, hex bar linkage and stubby air filters. Also got a new "up and over" style 4 into 1 exhaust, oil filter, oil filter mount, ...

Just scored some 40 DRLAs ready for when the 1914 turns up. Gona spend the winter getting the new motor in and run-in etc. ready for a full-on season next year.......hopefully! I usually hate winter but looking forward to this one.

Full flow filtration set up on a type 3 - like type 1?

Probably a silly question but can a full-flow filter setup be done on a type 3 in the same way it can on a type 1/2 engine, with the exit on the oil pump cover or will it foul the fan shroud/engine hanger?

If it cant be done like that then what is the best way of doing it?

Cheers in advance.

Time for another update me thinks. Today I picked up and fitted a funky new interior thanks to resto73, top guy and a pleasure to do business with. Differences between type 1 engine and type 3?

I've decided I'd like to take the recon 1600 TP engine out of my bug and fit it in my squareback. I believe I need to buy some adaptor thingy (tech term!) to convert the dipstick? onve this is done can I simply swap over the oil cooler, tinware and carbs from the squareback and fit them on the uprig...

Re: Got myself a '69 Savanah Beige Squareback

Cheers folks. Yeah I didn't realise at the time how desireable (expensive) they are. It really suits the interior of the car to. Went to a local car show and we got waved to the line up area away from the main car park so got to show it - kind of! Being able to change down to 2nd is still a novelty ...

Re: Problem changing down from 3rd to 2nd gear

Forgot tp update this - it looks as if it was the shifter that needed adjusting as ive done that and it now gets 2nd fine. So fingers crossed its sorted out.

Cheers again for the suggestions.
