Re: Type 3 treffen Germany pics

It would be remiss of me not to post one or two of my pics from the Treffen weekend. So I present Danny Lord, deep in contemplation (or something similar)... http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4025/4685249005_8e0c8ebfd0.jpg And test driving an alternative to his Notch... http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4...

Certainly some 8) cars theres Danny. I'm liking the rag top razor.
And am I right in saying that the metallic blue auto Notch has half a model notch grafted onto its back?

They are still the low back seats, I just managed to get hold of a couple of matching 70's slip-on head rests, these don't restrict my visibility and they're easy to remove. That said, I still want/need to replace the driver's seat as the mechanism for adjusting the angle of the seat back has failed...

I think that's unlikely - green light shining through red filter looks black, or at any rate dark and certainly not bright enough to be safe as an indicator. Strangely enough that's what I thought. I did try using green lens paint on a smaller bulb and whilst it did look 'less red' it certainly was...

Thats a lovely notch mate. I've got a feeling red rears lights are an mot failure in this country. :( I might be wrong but keep the normal ones just in case. When it comes to MOT time it does wear the normal amber-red-white lenses ;) Although I have been told that if you use green coloured bulbs th...

I really like them... 8)

I was fortunate that the clear front lenses (and the all red rear lenses) were in the box of bits and pieces that came with the car.

I've just read the offending article, and I have to say it was(is) harsh and almost gutter level journalism. I think Ivan is trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator with the Jade Goody reference.

Spent much of today in, under and around the car - seemingly to no effect! Start by checking across the battery terminals. Then find an earth and check for power to the starter , dynamo and fuseboard and go from there. Test lamp rigged up out of spare fog light. So far I've established there's power...

Electrical Fault - Where do I start?

Following on from my problematic starter motor with my Notch, I now have absolutely no response at all when the battery is reconnected. The batteries (I have tried two of them) are fully charged and in good condition. When the battery is reconnected there is a very small spark from the earth lead (p...

Thanks for the advice so far, now time for a little update. Went back into the garage for another look see.... What non-starting behaviour did it have? Engine churning away OK? = not the starter or solenoid. Just a click, and ign light dims? = sticking starter motor shaft/gear; brushes low; commutat...

Starter Motor Wiring?

Hopefully a simple problem. I cannot start my Notch and on examination there appears to be a loose wire (circled) by the starter motor. Is this the culprit? And if so where should it go?
