Re: HELPERS LIST - Breakdown help, tea & sympathy, or whatev

I no longer have a squareback fudge (though do have my type 2 bus) but I am still keen to help. I have to say that no one has ever contacted me at all. I guess we all have sufficient breakdown insurance or never venture far enough from home to need it these days.

Re: looking for fudge

Well - Fudge has headed off into the night with her new owner with all the spares there. Looks like the SW is going to get another Type IV in the Worcester area. Mind you this bloke David is an old car fanatic and has at least two others to restore before he plans to use Fudge on the road. He used t...

Re: looking for fudge

I understand ARCANE - I had to snap off several arms to get them myself!

I do have other spares I will proffer up on here after the sale.
Plus I must speak to Kieron about the share in parts I bought last year - he has them at his place.

Re: looking for fudge

I would certainly envy your driveway! Fudge is a bit of class and all my friends think it's a mistake to sell her on! :-(
I am going to advertise it with all the rare spares (2 excellent front wings, rare ball joints and plenty of other stuff) for £2000.
What do you reckon?
Whereabouts are you?

Re: looking for fudge

68lotus - If you mean FDG 393L then yes - I have her here in Durham. You are in luck though...I no longer have space to keep and I plan to sell in the next couple of weeks so if you are interested in owning her once more then PM me, I have looked after her during the last two years and have some his...

Re: '73 FI type3 refusing to start

That picture was from an old thread i started ages ago. One of the first annoying things my square suffered from.
I can possibly shed more light on it if the old thread does not show you what you want?
I also bought a second hand pump to keep in my attic with all the other spares!!!

Re: small oil leak....any ideas folks (pic)

I had the same looking leak and it was the complete lack of a gasket on the breather/filler box - made a new one out of cork and hey presto - cured!
Now just leaks out of push rod tube seals instead (obviously!!!)

Re: speedo cable question

Yes the square bit is there and spins around nicely (though the speedo used to jerk around like mad at low speeds so it is probably sticking somewhere down the outer). Like yours the plastic is damaged and doesnt work well. I was hoping for a way to push or hold the rest of the cable in but ...indee...
