I really should have tried harder to keep this thread up to date. Anyway, the BBC Alba film has been up on You tube for a while now and you will find it here; http://www.youtube.com/user/BTJustice?gl=GB&hl=en-GB#p/a/u/2/zUQyaxDdO_8 Last weekend I realised it was nearly a year since I had last driven...

You are doing an epic job there, keep going.
I remember this car from a few shows I managed to make it too and its easily the best looking Type 4 I have seen, wheels suit it perfectly.

I dont know if anybody is still following this thread but I'll post an update anyway. I loaned my car to BBC Alba (Gaelic telly) yesterday for them to film a feature for their version of Top Gear. I made it to the small sprint track and the sun was out, all going well until the TV presenter hit the ...

Thanks Kyle.

The front splitter is just a Kamei spoiler from a beetle with a few brackets made from old number plates to keep it the right shape and weakened so that the brackets will break if I clip a kerb or something rather than the spoiler.

Nice sunny day so I decided to try something. I bought a set of Type 3 side stripes long before the car got painted but never got round to sticking them on before paint and was too scared to do it after paint. Today I got brave. The car went from looking like this; http://img.photobucket.com/albums/...

I dont think there is a catch, i think they are cheaper as they hold less appeal to most people than a beetle. Lots of people who know nothing about cars know what a beetle is but not many folk know what a type 3 is so less demant = lower price. I had a square back before my fasty that cost me £100 ...

No way, thats a nightmare. Hows the pillar and the sill and is it getting fixed?

One of the reasons I picked up a Vento for the winter was being paranoid about somebody else hitting me.

Hope it all gets sorted out and see if you can get the car de-magnetised so it dosnt happen again.
