Type 4 wheel cylinders
Hi all
are there any other wheel cylinders that fit a type 4 (411). I see on the compatability chart you can use beetle front kits, but just wondered if there was a complete cylinder that fitted.

Hi Peter we'll be there Saturday. We'll be in the van. I'm sure all us type 4 owners can save the majority of the type 4 stuff. Paul If you dont have enough room for everything, I should be able to take some stuff back with me, I live about 10-15 mins from where your type 4 is parked :) Ah, you've ...

Ran out of time last time, however as work has quietened off spent a few hours doing some jobs. After getting all the stale fuel out and sorting a couple of fuel leaks, we turned it over and ........it runs! First time in nearly 30 years. Now to the brakes.......

I believe (but could be wrong) that the 411 cab is actually in Hamburg. Apparently there is a prototype museum there, but haven't found it yet! We are there at Christmas so will try and hunt it down.

Re: Engine noise on tick over Type 4 2.5 Turbo Diesel
You certainly do have the wrong type T4 for this forum! That said the vacuum pump rod is a very common problem on diesel T4's (even a small bit of wear makes them tap). If not could be a hydraulic tappet, try some engine flush and an oil change.

Re: EU Trying to ban ALL modified cars
There really is a lot of speculation/hype about this proposed regulation. I read the proposed reg this afternoon and to be honest, I cannot see much in it that would change the current system we have now. One key thing with EU regs having had experience drafting and negotiating one on buses (don't h...

Re: Project 411
Busy couple of days on the car. Engine loom repaired and engine turns over ok. Replaced the fuel pump and all the fuel lines and couldn't get any fuel out of the tank (the fuel in there was very stale!). Turns out that the tank pick up was choked all the way up. Removed the pick up from the tank (go...

411 Variant engine mounts
Hi all,
does anyone have a pic of a type 4 engine mount (the ones the hang the support bar to the body)? I have knocked up a couple of mounts up so the engine is supported. Are they similar to the type 3 ones? I had a (shot) set of Type 3 mounts but they seem way too long.
Thanks

Engine in today, in between heavy showers! http://www.flickr.com/photos/48638537@N03/ Loom is connected up, just need to repair the wiring to the coil, fit the exhaust, fill up the gearbox and we should be nearly ready to turn it over. Bolting up the torque convertor was fun..... Anyway, time for a ...

After something of a hiatus over the summer, due to work etc, I finally got an afternoon on the 411. The summer has been spent collecting bits!
