Re: orange fastback
:) Yes, it's a bit of a collection at the moment! I'm afraid that they're not all VW though. 4 x VW's, 3 x Fords & an MG - all in various states of repair to say the least! You have to have a deadline, no matter how daft it may feel at the time, but I think the rate your moving, it is well in your g...

Re: orange fastback
Amazing work! And as for the deadline, I can relate to the going backwards and forwards part! I've split my time with cars across 8 of them, which I blame as to why none of them are finished!
We're all behind you for the Bug Jam deadline if that counts for anything!

My fastback alternator conversion
Hope this is in the correct place, but I thought it might be useful to post my conversion having asked about them in the past myself! I got a lot of help from people on here and on Volkszone which was very useful indeed. The pdf document by Toby Erkson was by far the most in depth account for how to...

Thanks Peter, I had found that when I searched, but it didn't have any codes listed against the parts which is what I really needed.purplepeter wrote:http://www.vwtype3and4club.org.uk/_docs ... rtswap.htm

Re: Fastback Rear Wheel Bearing Codes
There's some good advice and links in the thread below, which I think helps both type 3 & 4 owners http://www.vwtype3and4club.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=5276 ......... and no, I haven't actually done mine yet :) Ah, now I feel silly, I did a search before I posted the Qs and ignored this as ...

Fastback Rear Wheel Bearing Codes
Hello all, It's time to sort my rear wheel bearings out on my fasty and wondered if anybody happened to have the SKF references for the rear wheel bearings? I wanted to buy them from my local bearing place as they were nice and cheap last time, but only have the one car on the road and don't really ...

Not sure if it is, but I think fuel hose deserves it's own thread for the amount of times I've had to change my engine bay pipes! I'm currently looking into what to buy to change them again soon!

Re: 1968 1600TL Fastback Automatic
Excellent result for a first outing! Be good to see some show pictures if there are any? I'm running KYB gas shocks all round on mine, which is around the same height as yours and this helps to keep her off the ground. It's only really when there are 3/4 passengers that it bottoms out every now and ...

I second that thought! I love seeing the rebuild pages as it spurs you on and it's great to see the cars materialise back from the grave.
