Hello Craig - mine’s a 68 Variant so I’m not sure the window glass would be the same...?

Thanks for looking Danny

Driver’s window

My Squareback’s driver’s door glass was shattered yesterday - how or why I don’t know as I wasn’t at home. Does anyone have a replacement or know if other VW models will fit or know where I can buy one or where I can get one made?

Thankyou

Thanks all for looking. I found a specialist ironmonger on an industrial estate and they turned out to be 10mm M4 pan-head screws.

Alarming that they shook lose though...

Choke Cover

My 1968 VW Type-3 fitted with twin- Solex 32pdsit-3 carbs have recently been refurbished by a garage in West London. After getting the car back and driving it around for a while I noticed that it was guzzling fuel and there was a trace of fuel on my drive. I took the car to another garage thinking I...

Re: Unknown Wire

Everything's working. I'm going to have to assume that it is part of the original wiring-loom, somehow and for some reason misplaced.

Thanks for you comments,

Kevin

Unknown Wire

Can anyone shed some light on an issue for me please: I noticed a wire hanging down underneath my car, by the front axle so took my 1968 1600 L squareback to my local garage. After some fiddling he managed to trace the wire up into the front boot; it came through just by the windscreen fluid reservo...

Carb balancing

Hello there.

I’ve recently moved to Hampton Wick (Kingston, London). My 1967 Squareback needs carbs balancing (according to my local mechanic, something he says he can’t do). Does anyone know of anyone local to me who can help me?

Thanks

Rear riding low

Can anyone help/advise: my 1967 Squareback seems recently to be riding low in the rear. It's just passed its MOT (so nothing wrong with the shocks) - what has gone wrong/what do I need to do to rectify it?

Thanks very much

Bumpers, re chroming and insurers!

Dear all - I need help: 1) does anyone have a decent rear bumper for a 1967 Squareback for sale, or, failing that, know of a re-chromers anywhere who'll quote less than the 'best' London price of £700 for a bumper and two over-riders!!! 2) my car is now near 'mint' - I've reconditioned the engine fo...

Where's best for me to get a set of beauty rings for my F reg type 3? By the way does that make me '67 or '68?

Custom and commercial do a plastic 'chrome' trim insert if you're really stuck.

Re: Hole in top of front left wing - for ariel or mirror?

Thanks for your response. It is on the top, about half way along the wing so I thought it was for a mirror, much like with an old Cortina or Zepphr. That would have been a modification though wouldn't it - not VW?

Cheers,

Kevin
