Re: rear wheel bearing advice?

How did it go? I have one side that needs doing. Was thinking of just tightening it up. But if you found it smooth enough to replace, I think that'd be the better route. :)

Re: Another Sale weekend at the Elderly Gents House!

Hang on, you didn't mention coming up any other time before the set dates to me?! I've just read back through this thread and it quite specifically sets a date and time. No I haven't come up at other set weekends as at that point the sills were promised to someone else. I was chuffed to of finally "...

Re: Another Sale weekend at the Elderly Gents House!

I was under the impression of being promised the pair of 411 sills since November, however someone who can get there Saturday has pipped me to the post as I originally couldn't get there until Sunday this weekend. If by some chance they don't get picked up(yeh I know it's a long shot! ), is t...

Re: Carb return springs and stiff accelerator pedal...

Don't know if it's of any help.....
But, I had a return spring go on Barb. I've replaced it with one from elctrotrade that is intended as a furniture spring and it works lovely. Bit fiddly to fit, but was still able to get it in there. :)

Re: which cable for accelerator?

Evening, I'm pleased to say I didn't need the cable after all. In daylight the problem was obvious and an easy fix. The return spring on one of the carbs had broken. Who'd of thought that would sound so expensive when it went huh

Re: which cable for accelerator?

Thanks Shawn. I think mines stuck in the channel underneath somewhere, my guess is it's got a little caught or something when the engine was out. Fine at carb n pedal end, but stuck n revving the nuts off

Re: Type 4 Carbs and Distributor combination

I'm not knowledgable, just need to get that out the way...... Barb('73 412ls running 1.8 a/c) is running stock solex twin carbs and a vacum dizzy. She runs beautifully like that and will cruise at a ton quite happily (on my private roads of course). She pulls away and drives through the gears nicely...
