Mine was the " hard as nails" patinad square, redoxide and gray primed poorly faked up... I probably paid to much at £1750 but it is solid just needs a heap of bits and bobs with iot being sat for so long... I hit it with more redoxide to cover the fake paint wear, looks better already, Im not wanti...

right now there is a very nice original square on ebaynfor a buy it now £2995, and another minter for £3000 ( reserve not met) for your info.

you also just missed a rust free ( allegedly) square for £500 on this forum...

was onto Brake international today for calipers, none in stock, you have to send your old ones to them for recon, 7 day turnaround, price unconfirmed . local factors looked through the books and called suppliers but no luck, there doesnt appear to be any available in the UK,, ( likewise with Mk1 Golf)

I called them yesterday and there is a 4 week turnaround. They mentioned that they could do one off looms if a patern was supplied.

The wiring is a complete mess of messed with bits n bobs tangled around taped up ends of this and that with loads of broken insulation and poorly crimped spade terminals.. just realy unreliable so best ripped out and started again... :) I dont mind things looking right ratty on the cosmetic side but...

will take some and figure out how to post but in the meantime it was the one that was for sale form the past 18months on VZI hard as nails patina monster, some of it is having a makeover though... car is worse for being sat... nothing other than brake calipers siezed though so thats a bonus.. new on...

P.S ref the wiring, would the kit available for a fastback 71/73 as available from autosparks be suitable for the 1970 model.. Im thinking probably yes but just before I splash the cash thought It would be wise to ask... there £200 plus vat so not to expensive considering the wire is bloody pricey t...

The 1970 square I bought is needing some freshening up. It had a pile of cash thrown at it a few years ago but has sat for around 4 years at least. apart from the rewire it desperately needs it also needs the front brakes looking at to free off the front wheels. all the brake hoses, discs, calipers ...
