It sounds like you have two different manifolds. I do have spares if you need one to match.

Fan belt size and type

Hi, I need a new fan belt. Is the correct size 10 x 1005 and while it be a V belt instead of a toothed one? A pointer in the right direction would be much appreciated. Thank you

Oddly enough it looks similar to a handbrake guide tube for a Mk2 golf.

I've just removed one from my chassis and that had been going for seven years. I've also got a spare but I won't need it now. I'll find it for you if it helps.

Re: Does anyone recognise these?

They are the "arm rest" ends. They are fitted, well certainly on my squareback(RIP) just behind the doors by the back seat area. I've also got a couple floating around.

Re: panel swap and RHD conversion

I think the panel swap has been posted on the Samba. It's not an easy one apparently. The rear lights I believe should be a case of wing swapping. The dash conversion you'll need the metal dash and cover. The LHD beam can be converted and then you'll need the steering bars. Simplest solution i think...

Re: pipe work fuel

Do you have the vent pipe, metal tucked up by the scuttle, connected. It also has flexible pipe attached a both ends. Thats what it sounds like you trying to find out. It will come from the fuel filler area, along, and then down the nearside inner wing/side of the petrol tank and vent out. I think t...

Re: Thermostats between heat exchanger and banana tubes

Had a look at them. The tube that is attached to the plate was rusty but still opened up. They didn't work with the OH hairdryer but worked with the heat gun needing to be quite hot to open up. The elbow is held on by a single pozi head screw. You can undo the top, you'll probably find the plate and...

Are they liable to rust up and therefore not work? Is the replacement the same as a beetle thermostat?

Thermostats between heat exchanger and banana tubes

How do the two thermostats operate please.? One has a smaller tube going into it. These are the two round bell mouths secured by three screws under the rear seat bodywork.

Re: Fire Prevention

Also check the carb tops as on mine the brass piece came out and eventually dripping fuel caught fire. As it was in the wiring corner the shorting caused the starter to continue to crank. I do have pictures if anyone wants to see the results. If fitting a suppression system I would consider the abov...

Re: Type 3 ball joint size

Yes they are larger. I have some second hand ones if you need them. I might have a bit of lock wire as well. You can also find them on a well known site using " type 3 ball joint cover". You'll need the large size. Whilst under the front give the beam a good grease and if need be replace all of the ...

I've now gone over to a Facet pump. Much better :D I've bolted it to the frame cover plate at the front on a bracket. I used an 8mm 90 degree bend on the way out into the frame pipe. Into the fuse box on an ignition controlled fuse. I'll change it to a switched fuse soon so if I need to work on the ...
