1970 Notch - Honey Brown

About time I posted up some photos of my other Notch. Here is a photo when I first got my Honey Brown '70 Notch on the road a few years ago.

The fresh air control boxes under the dash were in need of some love. Cleaned them up, removed the old perished rubber, painted and installed the new rubber seals. I found these air boxes were a pain in the ass to remove and reinstall but got it done over a few beers. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gal...

Re: Aussie '67 Notch

The seat rails on the right hand side were broken and twisted. Was lucky enough to get onto some replacements a little while ago. Also some floor sections that were sourced helped me to repair a rusty section of the floor on the drivers side. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1780856.jpg https...

Very tidy, what have you painted the tin with? or is it powder coated?

Re: Aussie '67 Notch

The carbs needed a good clean and rebuild. The accelerator pumps on both carbs had an extreme amount of wear where the connecting link mounts. So I welded the holes up carefully and then re-drilled the holes. I think they came up alright https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1748706.jpg https://ww...

Re: Aussie '67 Notch

Was never really 100% happy with having 4 stud on this notch, so I had been collecting parts and made a start on putting it back to wide 5. Tried to track down a pair of OG rear drums but ended up going with a pair of new ones. Got the rear all sorted and back on the ground. https://www.thesamba.com...
