Re: 412 diagnostic

Hi,
Mystery solved, the battery which I thought was good isn't, put new battery on and fired up. Reason for failing was alternator belt snapped.

Thanks for your response

412 diagnostic

Hi Guys, Got a problem with my 412 and just asking if anyone on here has had a similar experience. Drove it to work the other day which is aprox 6/7 miles and at the last mile started to miss a little until I turned into my works when it cut out completely. Tried to start it but battery seemed dead ...

Re: 412 clutch

Had to have my clutch rebuilt as the center plate on the friction plate had split. All in all it cost me £138.00 including new friction plate and new pressure plate which was machined to fit the friction plate. This was great for the first few miles when I broke down as I couldn't engage gears. Seem...

Re: clutch

thanks, yes I have checked the arm and it is ok, I am now going to remove both, the master and slave cylinder and check them over. This might take a while now with the dark nights and cold days upon us, might leave til it gets warmer.

clutch

Hi Guys, I have recently had a new clutch made for my 412 and I am now experiencing a problem with it not releasing. I took it out the other day and it was fine, I covered about 8 miles with no issues but on my return to home, it started to get difficult to engage gears and I had to pull over as it ...

Re: engine

just an update on the clutch issue. spoke to Jane yesterday and had an interesting conversation about this. These are apparently as rare as hens teeth and depending on the year and engine number all differ very slightly. I was led to believe the T2 would fit but Jane says not as they are different i...

engine

Hi Guys, Is the 1700 411 engine the same as the 1700 412? I ask because I want to replace my clutch and I have been told the 411 will not fit the 412 but they are both 1700 so I am a little confused (that doesn't take much nowadays) as they are both 1700 cc. Is it that the gearboxes are different an...

Re: Technical info required please

Hi guys, I have just tested the output on the battery and it is giving 12.9 with engine off and 14.2 when engine is on and revving so it seems there must be something else causing it to miss when been travelling for long period. I was wandering if there might be a crack in the cylinder head!! One th...

Re: technical info required

No problem dave, I have the link and I have checked everything on it, the only thing I couldnt find was this contact switch, or earth wire which you mention. I will see if I can locate it and see if its that which is causing me all this hassle. Once aGAIN, THANK YOU FOR ALL THE INFO.

Can anyone tell me if you can get a seal kit for the master /slave cylinder on the 412 LE? Mine has started to leak and I have to keep topping it up every couple of weeks or so. Also, still not sorted my heating out, I have checked all relevant parts and repaired / replaced where necessary. When I s...
