Re: Rust protection
Weld-through primer is about the only thing i can think of. That won't last forever though so maybe worth injecting wax after the welding is done? I drilled some holes that will be covered by the sill trim and injected cavity wax http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s239/creationblue/FB870540-AC0F-47...

Re: Type 1 into a Square
So I had the tin blasted and painted, and the magnesium fan shroud came through the process without to many problems, but is corroded a bit, so sprayed it with hi-temp laquer...... Just need to source a pulley bolt then the rest of the engine can be built up http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s239/c...

Re: Type 1 into a Square
So I had a day off work and took the dog to the yard and set about turning my 1776 T2 motor into a type3 8) Here's what I started with, it's a '71 motor judging by the engine code but I'm not sure of its displacement tho I have a receipt for 1700 B&Ps http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s239/creation...

I've not driven it let alone changed the tyresHavana Henry wrote:Aha, answered my own question I think. I've looked back at old pics in the thread and unless you've changed them the tyres on the steels were 165/65/15.

Re: '67 Square
Boring tyre question alert - can I ask what tyres you're running on those stock steels, and how many splines front / rear it's lowered? Cheers, James. I can't answer either question  I didn't lower it that was done by the PO, I'm guessing 2 splines. As for the tyres I will look next time I'm ...

Shocks and gaiters
Hi all, I need to replace my rear shocks and being a swing axle car there doesn't seem to be many options from the usual suppliers. Are they beetle units? Also the inner cv gaiters have fallen apart after no time at all! Are there any good ones about? I really hate doing these jobs annually due to C...

Bit of an update, although I wanted to keep as much original paint as possible I didnt want it to look rough! So the scabs have been treated and some paint blended in http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s239/creationblue/8C95A5D5-EFAD-4120-8236-0DF5A790D29B_zpsimyvwbzy.jpg http://i153.photobucket.com...

Type 1 into a Square
Hi all With the Square coming along nicely I have decided to put my 1776 motor that was built to a high spec a couple of years ago for my bus into the old girl. The engine in there just now is out of a '71 and leaking oil. My ideal is to change the oil cooler and tin-wear over, leave the dipstick wh...

Sill trim spring clip things
Hi guys
Does Anyone have or can point me in the direction of where to get the clips that attach the alloy sill trims to the sill (part that covers the edge of the carpet). Got some from Woolies but they were way to small.
Thanks
Just
