Re: VDO oil pressure sender

Do you run the hatch in the boot? If you don't the sender will screw straight into the oil cooler. Alternatively reroute your fuel hose, then turn the adapter on top of the oil cooler 90 degrees clockwise and it may just give you enough clearance to fit Didn't realise the switch adaptor actually mo...

VDO oil pressure sender

Just ready to fit the new "worry gauges" to the square. Removed the existing oil pressure switch and the new VDO sender unit won't screw into the block because the sender case is too big and hits the oil cooler mount. Any suggestions/remedies? Re: Hard start relay

Sounds like your starter solenoid is the issue.
A hard start relay will make no difference if the solenoid is the problem.

Re: '67 Square continued.....

Ta for that, ill pass it on! What sort of power is that expected to handle reliably? 250hp? About that, but it's built more as a long legged A road and Motorway cruiser to suit the expected output of the new engine, rather than a 1/4 mile stormer. I did think about a Super Diff but they're over £30...

Re: '67 Square continued.....

Not a lot to report.
Still waiting for the engine parts to come back from the machine shop.
But the gearbox has been rebuilt by John Walklett with new bearings and a 1.21 3rd gear, 0.77 4th gear, and welded 3rd and 4th hubs.

Mine does this, there's a small air leak at one of the exhaust joints causing it.

No, they're different to a Type 3 hockey stick.
If you fit a Beetle one it cocks the gearshift position to the left and makes shifting difficult. Ask me how I know.

I've got a complete Type 3 nosecone somewhere if you're interested.
