car cover

Hi all, Just replaced my cover with a new one, as the old one was starting to decay & some holes have started to appear - it is 2 years & 1 month old. It's a grey Stormforce cover (model CCC148) - its actually made for a Triumph 2000, but I bought the one for the fastback & it was too tight - this o...

Re: Mint condition RHD early fasty- possibly for sale

thanks broady_6, but in the meantime, i've managed to find some piccies of it on the internet - apologies to the previous owner for nicking his piccies, but this was the car before I got it - still in the same condition, although I have changed the wheels, added a few goodies & it is now sitting at ...

Mint condition RHD early fasty- possibly for sale

Hi all. I love my fasty to bits, but we are considering the possibility of a t5 so it may have to go. It's a rhd 68 auto in beige. Condition is absolutely mint inside and out..no rust, no 'bubbles, no mismatched paint, no dents, no scratches. Drives perfect. Nothing needs doing whatsoever..just get ...

Hi all,

I have a pair of Toyo 155R15 tyres available.

I bought these for my fasty, but decided not to fit them.

No damage, leaks or repairs.

Re: Insurance

It's all a bit bizarre to be honest. I have a 64 bus - the insurance for this is quite reasonable - it's with Footman James. Every year I try FJ for a quote for the fastback, and they are really expensive? The Fastback is insured with Heritage - or at least it was until I have just swapped to Lancas...

Insurance

Sorry, not really technical matter, but my Fasty ins is due and it seems to have gone up a fair bit since last tear. i am with Heritage & they are quoting £128 this year for £10k agreed value (no breakdown). Just wondered if people are paying this much & can anyone recommend any good companies. Than...

any line up at Big Bang

Hi to those who are in the club's organisation dept!

Off to Big Bang for the day this Saturday, probably in my type 3, and just wondered if there was any kind of club type 3 display/line up?

I realise it's a a bit short notice but only just got back from holiday this afternoon.

Thanks.

Re: new wheels catching - ok to grind down the caliper?

Mark - you may have a point. Had a look today - there is no damage to the inside of the wheel, so i'm happy its not a wheel rubbing issue. If you turn the wheel back and forth with the car jacked up, there is a slight 'knock' when you stop and re-start. There is also some play in the wheel bearings ...

Re: new wheels catching - ok to grind down the caliper?

Thanks guys - will check at the weekend and report back. I've just had a quick rock of the wheels and they seem rock solid. I'm pretty sure the discs are warped as I remember the sensation of the brakes going on and off a little when braking with the original wheels on. the back of the alloys I put ...

Re: new wheels catching - ok to grind down the caliper?

Been a while since I posted this thread up, but just started to use the car more now the weather's getting better. When I first used the car after the winter, I noticed that there was a notchyness coming through the steering wheel when I brake, like a 'pulsing'. I put this down to rusty discs, or so...

Re: Why are there 2 thick wires going to my starter?

Checked it over again this morning - turns out I had allowed the thick main wires to rotate a bit too far as I was tightening up the nut & one of these wires must have turned round far enough to touch the plate for the relay operating wire so there was a permanent feed to the solenoid. Rotated the w...

Re: Why are there 2 thick wires going to my starter?

It does, many thanks David, but.. Fitted it back on today - 2 large wires to the bolt connector plus the spade - as soon as I reconnected the battery, the starter operated - no key in the ignition or anything, just reconnected the battery. I have had the starter fully reconditioned - could it be fau...
