Re: advise for parts and lowering

I have good used windlace trim in black for around the doors, original bonnet badge, and also used trim for around the windscreen (this is always fragile and used is usually a bit twisted). Try and buy genuine whenever you can. Bits I have are all cheap or happy to trade for something I need. Or you...

Re: Brake problems

I found some NOS boxed genuine VW ATE calipers with the pads whilst on a recent trip to Germany in an old parts warehouse. These are for late Type 3 (and Type 4 so Iam told). Doesnt get any better than this, why spend money on remanufactured ones when you can have these and like new factory spec bra...

Re: Fender/wing beading

Cheers Peter thanks for the heads up  Got to take rear wings off again to wax oil and then seal the fender beading with some Anchor wax. I have the foam seal strip to fit as well. Managed to sort out the lower valence beading (velvet green) so when they turn up I will get on with sorting.

I have always thought of it as a 5 seater car too David.

If I can remember where I read the info that states 4 seater then I will post a pic up.

Anyone know for sure what VW used when installing originally? What do people use now to seal when replacing the beadin...

Re: Condenser help

Mine has some damage to the wire, but it is part no. 1 237 330 191 managed to find some from CIP1 in USA. listed as auto up to 71.

Going to swap out fuel filter and replace and check the metal lines also as maybe they have a blockage.

Wow! Doug :) What a nice find. Its a great colour. Mine just has more rustina mixed in ;) I managed to find an NOS exhaust recently for very little. But missing the tailpipe. So they are out there. Getting the knackered old one off was the challenge. As Dave says the 42mm pipe style fixings are a PI...
