Hi Dave Yes it was that one I was looking at, had a few issues which delayed collection but had it 2 months now. Ive changed the front brakes completely and also fuel lines and bearings , checked over the suspension. Now working on the rear end. Surprisingly only needs a very small patch in the o/s ...

I have most of the bits now meantime , I will rejoin the club too and send in my details , Haynes in hand .

Managed to get the xjs out the garage yesterday and the 412 in so hopefully get started this week

Just a guess , i had something similar with a Triumph - is the advance mechanism working correctly in the dizzy ? I know you said the vacuum works but check the mechanicals are free to move .

Thanks Dave , I’ve read both 740 & 240 have similar profiles ( the 940 sill should be same as 740 it was just a facelift 740 ) eBay have both , just not sure of the difference if any between them .
Any ideas re cuts for the rear arches ?

I had already checked and presumed the same but you never know if its forgotten in a lock up somewhere . Just sold a tr6 thats been off road since the 80s so you never know :)

Dont suppose anyone knows of my old 412le variant
I traded it in to a trader in watford in about 94 .

I would maybe buy it back if available .
either that one or may dads one vxa525l last seen in dundee in about 82
May just have to look for another if one is ever available :)
