Re: Wiring loom front end.
I may have misheard him? He said the Us spec looms were a couple of years behind the Euro versions? So maybe a 71 loom would be ok on US spec. Registration on mine is 70 so its more of a 69 I think. I may well Have all this backward. Ha

Wiring loom front end.
Hi guys. Problem number #574. I need to replace the front end of my loom. RHD variant 1970 chassis number is beginning with 360 I have found a guy called vwlooms. Has anyone had much experience with him? He sounded pretty decent. He has a 68 fastback front end on US spec. Will this fit my square? Or...

Car is already on short manifolds apparently. So we're back to the drawing board on this one. Ha!

Re: Newbie
Btw Jmarkha1 Your square is really nice. I can only find a pic of it on the trailer though. Do you have some completed pictures of the project? I'd love to see it all finished. It's a dream.

Re: steering wheel catching on indicator stalk
Ok, so it seem that the car originally came with a plastic large wheel as the indicator stalks and wiper stalks are on the column. This is blocking the wheel from turning with the old style d-ring steering wheel. My option appears to be plastic ugly wheel or aftermarket wheel. That is very disappoin...

Re: Newbie
Here we go. Image before is from the awesome interiors insta. I liked the image so did a d/l. As you can see I have quite a lot of work to do to get it looking right and the stance working etc. Put the chrome trim back on drop the front a little and get rid of those baby turbo mirrors. Which I hate....

Re: 2.0ltr on twin 44's
I mean manifolds are as standard for the carb set up. A 2ltr type 3 isn't normal. I'll investigate these options further. What I don't want to do is choke the lump. As that man says, shorter manifolds won't restrict flow. Only a smaller diameter will do that. I'm on a massively steep learning curve...

steering wheel catching on indicator stalk
Why is this happening. It's from a type 1 but it's the correct wheel for the car. Or is there a subtle difference somewhere I'm missing?

drop spindles
Hello all I'm sure it's been posted before. I can't see in the search function though, Maybe I've missed it somewhere. I wonder if there are any current UK manufactures of drop spindles for the square. I want to just tuck in the wheels at the front. I'm not into slamming it, just drop another inch o...

Re: 2.0ltr on twin 44's
Pretty severe options. I wondered about smaller filters but I've been told that they need room to gas off. Lower filters might result in fuel collection and I could get a fire on lift off from unburnt fuel. It totally negates the square as I no longer have a flat load area. Back to the drawing board.

2.0ltr on twin 44's
Hi guys my square is running a 2007 with twin 44's. The neck on the carbs mean that they jut out the top of the engine bay so the previous owner did what he could and made a riser to house everything. However I have a bloody awful bump in my load area. Short of sticking twin solex on and chocking th...

Hi So, I finally manged to get a Square. I went for a lovely 1970 in the end. The earlier ones that I looked at were too much for what they needed imo. The 70 has some work to do to get it to the level I want, so I'm going to run it as is for the summer whilst doing what I can cosmetically. I'm putt...
