Not wishing to ruffle any feathers but, filled in the membership form and sent off a cheque a couple of months ago not heard anything since. I appreciate this is a task carried out on a voluntary basis by dedicated people I am not complaining. Just wanted to know had the paperwork arrived ok.
I've owned my fuel injected 411 for just over 12 months, it's been problematic!! My question is would most owners stick with the fuel injection or convert to carbs? Wow, don't think I can make it would love to dive in. Noticed a few pairs of side marker lights they would of been on the shopping list.
I guess that seems obvious, should give more detail... The live feed from the fuse to the wiper motor switch has a male to female connector situated just behind the clocks in the dash. I'm guessing it's been done to aid the removal of the wiper motor should the need arise.!
Cheers Dave. Had to get my head under there anyway. Wipers not working but fuse not blown. Seems there is a live feed from the fuse to the wiper switch. This had become disconnected.
Thanks people, yes fuel filter. Ermm must admit it did not occur to me to make sure I'm getting full throttle on the pedal. Valve clearances no idea setting the timing again pretty clueless. A bit of history..... 1700 fuel injected 411 le auto. Had the car 12 months only done local journeys, took the car to Tatton park so first time on the motorway... Not good would not go faster than 64 MPH that was pedal to the metal. Prior to the journey I've replaced the filter most of the fuel line...
Hi when I purchased my 411 last summer I asked the previous owner if I could run the car on unleaded fuel. He said it was ok due to this type of vehicle being designed for the American market, and they had introduced unleaded. Is this fact or fiction???
Well folks all is well in my world started the car this morning it started first time on the button. I cannot believe my luck. Will be investing in a new coil however don't really trust this one it was well fried yesterday so hot you couldn't touch it. There you go.
Will check to see if I have fuel pumping tomorrow and check for a spark. I can live with changing the coil and fuel pump fingers crossed I haven't trashed anything else. And yes the ignition was on for eight hours and it still turned over no prob.
I have electronic fuel injection on my 411 le, I managed to leave the ignition switched on for eight hours !!! Oh dear. I wouldn't have a clue how to organise this type of event. It's going to be touch and go if I'm there in my type 4, still filling and preping. Will be there regardless even if I'm in my Focus. Need to visit the Auto jumble.
