Re: Fuel injection or carbs

It seems some of my running issues may be being caused by poor vacuum, air intake manifold is going to be re sealed.... See where that goes fingers crossed.

Membership

Not wishing to ruffle any feathers but, filled in the membership form and sent off a cheque a couple of months ago not heard anything since. I appreciate this is a task carried out on a voluntary basis by dedicated people I am not complaining. Just wanted to know had the paperwork arrived ok.

Fuel injection or carbs

I've owned my fuel injected 411 for just over 12 months, it's been problematic!! My question is would most owners stick with the fuel injection or convert to carbs? I'm guessing keeping it factory is the best option but it seems parts and expertise are pretty thin on the ground regarding problem sol...

Didn't know that. I don't think I would be up for removing the wiper motor, a bit to much Athritis in the hands. Thank you for the info.

Re: 411 1972 Wiper motor

I guess that seems obvious, should give more detail... The live feed from the fuse to the wiper motor switch has a male to female connector situated just behind the clocks in the dash. I'm guessing it's been done to aid the removal of the wiper motor should the need arise.!

Re: 411 1972 Wiper motor

Cheers Dave. Had to get my head under there anyway. Wipers not working but fuse not blown. Seems there is a live feed from the fuse to the wiper switch. This had become disconnected.

Unleaded fuel

Hi when I purchased my 411 last summer I asked the previous owner if I could run the car on unleaded fuel. He said it was ok due to this type of vehicle being designed for the American market, and they had introduced unleaded. Is this fact or fiction???

Ignition problem

I have electronic fuel injection on my 411 le, I managed to leave the ignition switched on for eight hours !!! Oh dear. I tried to start the car which normally starts first time on the button, it just turned over. I touched the coil which was at melting point so I assume I've fried the coil. Would I...

I wouldn't have a clue how to organise this type of event. It's going to be touch and go if I'm there in my type 4, still filling and preping. Will be there regardless even if I'm in my Focus. Need to visit the Auto jumble.
