T3D can convert them to a quartz movement if you really want to spend you cash that way. Personally i wear a watch :D

A stock vacuum advance distributor is the best solution as it will give the correct advance curve. 009's are better suited to a mild street motor

Got any fuel pipes resting on the engine block? If so tie them up away from the hot engine as this can cause evaporation.

i agree most likely the crankshaft oil seal. Other causes could be the o ring on the flywheel (often missed) or the input shaft seal on the gearbox. no option but to pull the engine to find out for sure. Mine looked very similar infact quite a bit worse so i dropped my engine at weekend to find this...

i have 2 sets of lenses. 1 for the MOT and the other for the remaining 364 days of the year. I don't think my MOT tester would fail it on the lenses but for the sake of 5 minutes switching lenses it isn't worth the agro.
