Re: Stanford Hall?

I expect that was me on the way back down to Reading! Was a great show and nice to meet other members of the club. A fine turn out of lovely cars, in particular I did like the type 4’s (sure I will get one, one day). I took two quick photos only showing half the cars :( , but I attach as below. http...

Small press release 68 411...

The MOT garage I take my fastback to has a pile of 1960's and 70's car magazines in the waiting room which are a great read. I found the below: start of the type 4!

Re: Type 4 grannies

I’m very envious. I have been searching for a British RHD Cyclops 411 for years! I know of only one UK car that’s firmly not for sale . Its is in bad condition but is safe in a VW enthusiasts ownership. There was another around a few years back as per link (me searching for that car) but it’s not be...

Re: Wing beading

That’s the right part no. A mate bought a set of T3 wing beading from a well known aircooled vw supplier. We compared it to the woolies trim and it was identical but cost him a lot more than the woolies trim. The previous post totally sums it up, but just to say what I did: Separate small section of...

Ah yes - I now remember the type 34! If anyone’s up for a show stand next year I would be happy to help out if needed.

Re: Classic car show at the Birmingham NEC this weekend.....

I did go! My dad has a couple of Jowetts so we went to help on the Jowett Car Club stand. It was a great show with halls of outstanding classic cars, however I was very disappointed that not a single type 3 or 4 was in the show. Splitscreen van club were there, and VWOC were there with a number of B...

Re: best place for type3 wing beading?

I got mine from woolies-trim. It was exactly the same stuff as a friend brought from a well know aircooled vw supplier yet much much cheaper. Its comes in black or white.

Hi. I think I remember this. Assume from the yellow windows its the same car? It was a full feature in Total VW magazine early year 2000.

EKF 736H - ‘68 411 4door

Does anyone know what happened to this 411? I would love a ‘68 onepeice headlight 411 4 door. DVLA use to say it was taxed until 2006. Now DVLA says it not recognised :( http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g287/type3lord/new%20album%203/CCI26102007_00002.jpg Later spotted as: http://images.thesamba.co...

Re: Not driving smoothly...

Hi- I’ve had a number of standard Bosch fuel pumps on the car, but now it’s running a new Ford Ranger electric fuel pump which produces a sufficient amount of pressure for the car (these pumps are commonly used by type 3 owners in the States as replacement for the standard Bosch pumps) - but with al...

Re: Not driving smoothly...

Finally got some free time and took the cylinder head temp. sensor out and measured its cold and hot resistance - seems to be working well and its wires and connectors are all in good condition too. Checked timing again and put on new vacuum hoses on disy. Its just it has no problems accelerating in...

Not driving smoothly...

My fuel injection 72 fastback does not accelerate or drive smoothly at low and mid range revs – it tends to jerk! It does however run fine when the engine is cold- the fault only happens when the engine is warm. I feel this could be a fuel supply issue; when cold, the cold start valve supplies the e...
