Re: FI Fuel Pump options
I use a Ford Ranger Airtex E2000 fuel pump. A popular swap for FI type 3's in the States, but was easy to get one delivered to the UK. Has worked very well.

Rebuild D-jet fuel injectors
Can anyone recommend a company/person who rebuilds D-jet fuel injectors in the UK? One of mine is leaking fuel from the injector. Thanks.

Re: Type 3 FI fuel pump options?
Thanks for the feedback Doug. I got the existing pump (an American Airtex E2000 Ford Ranger Pump) working. Turns out the fuel pump relay was on its last legs and not supplying a steady power supply to the pump not so I got a new one. Bosch still make the relays- £5 off ebay so was an easy fix this t...

Type 3 FI fuel pump options?
What modern fuel pumps are people using on FI type 3’s? Years back after getting through countless used original Bosch units (they never lasted long), I shipped a new US Ford Ranger pump over as that’s what people on thesamba were using. It fit and worked well and lasted ten years but now that’s giv...

Re: Type 3 replacement / rebuilt dynamo?
Thanks for that. A few parts suppliers are saying a type one pulley is suitable, but I know their knowledge of type three parts can be poor. I will hunt down a used one.

Re: Type 3 replacement / rebuilt dynamo?
Thanks for the feedback, really appreciated. As its just the bearing I'm going to try to change it myself, I hear its not to challenging to do (I say that now anyway!). The pulley wheel is a bit tired so thinking of changing that too. Apart from the notch cut out in the outer diameter for the type 1...

Type 3 replacement / rebuilt dynamo?
One of the bearings on my 72 Fastbacks dynamo is on the way out. Does anyone offer rebuilt Bosch units on an exchange bases, or is there a good refurbish company that can be recommended?

Re: Stanford Hall?
I expect that was me on the way back down to Reading! Was a great show and nice to meet other members of the club. A fine turn out of lovely cars, in particular I did like the type 4’s (sure I will get one, one day). I took two quick photos only showing half the cars :( , but I attach as below. http...

The MOT garage I take my fastback to has a pile of 1960's and 70's car magazines in the waiting room which are a great read. I found the below: start of the type 4!

Re: Type 4 grannies
I’m very envious. I have been searching for a British RHD Cyclops 411 for years! I know of only one UK car that’s firmly not for sale . Its is in bad condition but is safe in a VW enthusiasts ownership. There was another around a few years back as per link (me searching for that car) but it’s not be...

Re: Wing beading
That’s the right part no. A mate bought a set of T3 wing beading from a well known aircooled vw supplier. We compared it to the woolies trim and it was identical but cost him a lot more than the woolies trim. The previous post totally sums it up, but just to say what I did: Separate small section of...

Re: Classic car show at the Birmingham NEC this weekend.....
I did go! My dad has a couple of Jowetts so we went to help on the Jowett Car Club stand. It was a great show with halls of outstanding classic cars, however I was very disappointed that not a single type 3 or 4 was in the show. Splitscreen van club were there, and VWOC were there with a number of B...
