We have a Type 3 and Beetle both 1973. Should we get automatic exemption when the tax becomes due or do you have to apply for it. Is it based on Manufacture date or date first registered? Looked on the online site and they both seem still to be eligible for tax.

The Window Rubbers on my 73 Variant are shot and will need replacing very soon. Any comments on the best quality (re fit and longevity) around at the moment> I want to retain the chrome strips so not Cal Look rubbers.

at weekend put some graphite into lock got some Molegrips on the key and twisted hard, with a crunch key came out and the lock freed itself! Tried all my keys for the car and the lock and ignition seem to be working fine. Hoping it will last but so far so good
