Discs n pads!?
Just had a call from my man at the garage to tell me that I now need (in addition to the bearings last week!) new discs and pads. My question is, what do I use? cos on the 'partswap' site it seems a little confusing (unless of course I'm being a complete moron?). My car is a K-reg Square.
Anyone?

Wheel bearings...?
My 72 Square has developed a low whiring noise coming from the front end and I'm thinking it sounds a lot like wheel bearing wear. My question is this; having looked at the Type3 part swap site ( http://home.clara.net/hallvw/partswap.htm ), it seems to recommend me using water-cooled rear (Polo, Gol...

Clutch slip advice
My 72 square has just began to get a bit of clutch slip going uphills. A little advice would be appreciated;
Is it an engine out job?
Am I right in thinking that (same year) beetle clutch will fit?
and, What should I buy? Everything?
Thanks in advance.
Oh, best place to buy?

Anyone know this car...
Can't remember if I've posted this before but does anyone have any history on my car? It's a 72, was originally (Marina?) Blue, but the previous owner (in Falmouth) pointed out that the guy before him had hand painted it green after he changed a door (!!) Anyway, does anyone recognise it? If not I'l...

Shock Horror...
I have a (slightly) lowered 72 Square fitted with KYB shocks, whilst jacked up yesterday investigating a 'clunking' sound at speed bumps and potholes, we found that the nearside shock had no resistance what so ever. So, firstly can I presume that this shock is knackered? Secondly, does anyone know i...

Tyre question...
I'm currently running Yokohama C-Drives 185x65s on the front of my 72 Square and have bought red-rim tyre flaps for it...my problem is that these Yokies have a 'rim-protector' which sticks out and wont allow fittin of tyre flap. My question is, what is the lowest profile tyre that I can get away wit...

Water comin in?
I have an annoying problem, nothing drastic but it gets on my nerves. Everytime it rains (or snows!) water runs into my car down the back of the dash. It's a 72 square and someone once suggested it may be because there is a blockage in the air box(??) under the grills... So, does anyone know if that...

13"?
Hi, would 13" wheels fit my 72 square? They've got an offset of Et15.
If so what would be the disadvantages (if any)?
Cheers, Gary.

Thanks. I wasn't that worried, but then I'm a bit of a goon even when it comes to the most simple of mechanical tasks! The only thing i was thinkin about was if the pressure of too much oil may begin to bend important stuff(?) inside?? But you didn't really mention that so, it can't be that much of ...

Too much oil?
I recently did an oil change on my 72 Square, and like an idiot, put too much in...or have I?
The oil is around 5mm over the max line on the dipstick. So, is this something I should be worrying about? And, if so, is there any way of taking some out without draining from the bottom again?

Personal preference...why would anyone shine their car? (it's not for me) Why would anyone put different wheels on their car? Or in fact modify it at all? Wouldn't this world be a dull place if all cars looked the same? Here's mine, I'm sure it aint for everyone but then I couldn't give a tinkers to...
