i ment 1 on the dissy is top left, where the mark is- tho this dissy has a mark for 1 and 3!!!

Yes, we were so careful to do it right. I did the tappets yesterday and think it is all in the right places. number 1 fires at top left....? tho my haynes manual looks opposite- but we went by the john muir book. I have now used the proper type 3 clamp and a different sealing ring and the dissy goes...

I woukd just like to say that the 009 works and doesnt come loose even with the clamp untightened.
I was wondering if theres too much play in the inside bit- can that be a thing?

Hi
I bought a secondhand type 3 dissy svda to try instead of my 009 and the beeping thing wont stay in the shaft. everytime i try to start it it comes disconnected- is it toast?

its a separate copper pigtail thats an earth. nothing to do with the points.

cool! it is working quite well.
Have i put the earth pigtail in the right place??
Im checking cuz ive got no spark unless i open the points with a plastic knife- then i get one at the points and one at the ht lead!!

we took the fan off and all the housing and the endfloat didn't get free until the last bit came off! This is all because i changed the cam and oil pump. So we shaved more off the fan housing and bolts. It seems to be flat now and end float is back! Im glad it happened- the engine is turning much ea...

Hello again!!! We have just torqued the flywheel up on my engine and ive got zero end float. We had previously checked it twice and had a tolerance of 0.10/9. middle of ok. we have got the fan /generator etc installed- is there anything else other than shims that could be wrong- before we reshim????...

ive just put a spring on my thermostat flap and didnt think it seemed right- because it makes them open wide.
the thermostat will open the flap anyway- do i need a spring at all?

lol!! ok- its too late now- im committed - or willbe soon
So .....the fan housing went on, but didnt line up, so rich ground back the bolt more and the housing a bit and it went on straighter hopes its ok!!

Yes, well the fuel injection is replaced by carbs. solex 32s
