Re: '67 Square continued.....

love the coach wheel - nice choice. I bought a knackered one and painted the rim white but think the original finish looks great in a T3.

Re: New to the club and new to my Type 3 Fastback

it does notneed TLC - it needs fabrication.

car looks like its worth sorting and getting back to how it should be - hope you left suitable feedback for the seller...

They are quite a rare item - I had mine rebuilt. You may also want to look at hi torque starters for performance bugs - they will have similar output required to start an auto -

Always surprises me when I see recommended tyre pressure at 17 PSI - every-time you have tyres fitted you usually get the " you sure mate - 17 is low"

Re: More power from an FI type3

TheSamba.com has a lot of info regarding tuning the FI engine. Changing the cam will ruin the FI timing - avoid. If youre looking for a mild improvement - rebuld the motor standard, fit a tuned exhaust and have the cylinder heads ported for better flow - that will make the car run well on the stock ...

Re: carbs whats the best

for standard 1600 - have your carbs reconditioned and you'll be happy.
for a tuned motor - go for dellorto 36mm carbs on short manifolds and small venturies to retain drivability.
avoid any remanufactured carbs like empi - they are nowhere as good as your stock solexes...

Re: Tyre size for a fastback

depends on what offset the wheels are - I "think" cosmics are pretty good for type 3s - so maybe ET45 - if thats the case the 195s should sit well on the back with 155/15 up front if you lower the car a bit in the front
