Re: Re-Fitting glass with new seals.

Evo-Stik impact - Either aerosol or in a tube- Aerosol is easiest.
Look out for the Blue packaging, which is repositionable but not sure it's available in an aerosol.
The normal stuff is Red packaging

I really wouldn't use anything- it's not just the seal You've got to worry about, but the paint as well

Re: Re-Fitting glass with new seals.

Seal onto Glass, then trim into seal (but not the joining piece) Then glass/seal/Trim into Body aperture.
You shouldn't need any lubricant, just a hefty mate if poss & a nice warm day
Where did You get the seal? if it's one of Simons You shouldn't have any problems
Joining piece gets inserted last.

Re: In car heating.

I couldn't say on the fresh air controls- Don't think I've touched them in living memory! But I would add that if You have a stock Exhaust system, the Type 3 has quite aggressive heating- You'll have noticed that Type 3 owners always drive around with the windows open, partly just because the car is...

Re: Master cylinder fluid leak

Just to throw it into the mix... I have experienced the grommet/inlet pipe failure when I got a bit too much pressure in the eezibleeder (about 7 years ago) Instant gasket worked & has continued to do so, though it doesn't look very elegant.
