Re: Type 3 Thermostat

Hi Calamity, if the oil cooler is caked up then I would say definitely give a soak in diesel and give the fins a blast through. As for the dizzy, there is usually enough room to fit the dual vac dizzy, is the timing set up correct, reason I ask is because if you cant fit the larger dizzy in then tha...

Re: Repairing dual vacuum cans for distibutors..

I'm not familiar with the term OE but if your pump is an original then they normally are able to pull the fuel through with ease, have you tried sucking the petrol through using your mouth making sure there's no blockages?

Re: Repairing dual vacuum cans for distibutors..

Mark its interesting about your not wanting to use a 009 dizzy, on my first rebuild i had a new one and fitted thinking it would be improvement, can i ask why your wanting a vacuum advance, is it for the originality?

Yea I know the ones you mean, they're severe the way they clip into the bodywork, if these plastic ones work out I'll drop you a note with details, they work out quite abit cheaper too

My engine number T0705029
The vacuum can number on the F1 engine is 883, which tallies with what your saying so think this means i have fitted the wrong can to my car, altho it works a treat and so far no problems

Re: loosing oil

Ive just refilled the engine and had it running with the tinware off on the fouling side and the oil is pumping out from under number 3, its almost like a stream, so engine out is a definate. Thanks for ...
