Re: Drivers Seat

I’ll take that back ! Having looked at the detail today you are right. That does look like the best answer for my Drivers Seat, and the price is not as bad as I thought. It’s $ 75 per Seat. Not $ 75 each Cam. I’ll be emailing to ask if the $ 30 shipping price includes to UK Might try wrapping someth...

Sorry. Had not seen these messages put on here 8th June. My Mother was in Hospital at the beginning of June then died on the 5th, so had not looked on here at all until today.

Re: WANTED 311 905 205 M auto distributor

Yes. I know that bit. I’ve owned a 411LE and a 412LE in the past. I still have a Fuel Injection Type 4 Distributor that came as a Spare with the 412LE. That one is VW 022 905 205 H / Bosch 0 231 163 011 if anyone needs one. Never owned a Fuel Injected Type 3 though, so just wondered if the Fuel Inje...

Does the Distributor for the Fuel Injection Automatic have a Dual Vacuum Unit, or do Fuel Injection models not need that like the Carburettor models ?

Re: Drivers Seat

Had a look today at the 2 Drivers Seats I have. Found out how to adjust the Cable to release the Back of the Seat to fold it forwards. I think the very laid back Drivers Seat is due to wear on the Rake Adjustment Cam(s). Has anyone found a way of fixing that please ? Only thing I can think of is sti...

Re: Connecting to new washer jets

Assuming it is a Type 3 we are talking about ? I’ve done it but don’t remember exactly how. You need to take the Washer Jet out of the hole to push the tubing on to the connection on the back of the Jet. If the Jet is old then it may break taking it out. There is a hole somewhere in the bottom of th...

Drivers Seat

Asked on Wanted if anyone had a good Driver Seat, due to my Original Seat and then a used replacement Seat having got very, very laid back. What is it that makes the Seat get so laid back, and what can I do about it please ? I see 1600lenotchback has a Set of Front and Rear Seats for a Notch or Fast...

Drivers Seat

Don’t suppose anyone has a good Drivers Seat for my 1972 Type 3 Variant. I mean one that would just go straight in to be used. 2 Runner Type. Would really like a Pair of Highbacks but there’s prevention less chance of that. My Original Drivers Seat RHD has gone very, very laid back. I had another fr...

I’ve tried to locate a Spare Non Fuel Injection Dual Vacuum Distributor for my 1972 Type 3 Automatic.

Would be interested if one of those shows up in your search 311 905 205 AA on mine.

Seat Runner Springs

Just been swapping the Drivers Seat on the 1972 Variant. Expecting to have to press down the Spring Plate thing that stops the Seat sliding off the front of the inboard Runner. It’s not there ! Neither is the one for the Passenger Seat. I can only guess that the guy who did the “ Body Off “ maybe di...

Did the simple Mod. Cut a new HGV Schrader Tyre Valve extension in half. Removed Tube from Washer Bottle Cap. Fit cut half of HGV Schrader Tyre Valve extension to Washer Bottle Cap. Put Cap back on Bottle. Pressurised. Checked Washers. That worked. Didn’t use the 1 Metre extension. Just a short one,...

Re: steel wheels

I fitted new Original style 5.5” x 15” Wheels on my Type 3 with 185 65 15 Tyres. Not original but I like the look.

Only problem was I had to swap the Tyre for the Spare back to a 165 80 15 as the 185 would not fit in the Spare Wheel well. The 165 is tight as it is !

Re: Washer Bottle Cap & Tube.

That is not the case with the Replacement one supplied by VW Heritage. No problem blowing through that one without pressing the white tab in. It’s black not white on that one. The air blows out of a tiny hole near the tab. There is no such hole to be seen on my Original. Tried spraying the Original ...

Re: PHOTO CALL FOR NEW CLASSIC CAR TV SHOW

Interesting. But what were they thinking about with the modified Front Bumper ?

I know what mine cost to buy NOS from ex Club Chairnan Jay, then get them triple chromed to show standard. Why cut one up to narrow it when new ones are virtually unobtainable ?

Re: Quick chassis/floor question

I don’t know the answer but why not try asking the experts like VW ISP West who specialise in Type 3 rebuilds ? I have always found them very helpful.

alex@vwispwest.com or anthony@vwispwest.com

T’other experts would be Type 3 Detectives ?

Is there anything on here about how the Late Type 3 Windscreen Washer Bottle Cap and Tube works please ? Just wondering why Posting Photos is so complicated on here please ?

On the Audi A2 Owners Club ( A2OC ) I can just Click on the Icon same as the one above here, 9th from the Left, and it takes me to my Photos on my iPad or Phone.

Clicking that same Icon on here all that happens is this :- Image
