my square's a '72 with late calipers. I got mine from here:

http://www.brakes4u.co.uk/supersearch.a ... VOLKSWAGEN.

If beetle pads (for early model) or volvo pads (for late model) dont fit then I think you have non standard callipers.

Yes they do cos that where I got mine from along with a bugpack silencer and some j tubes.

I dont think theres any difference in the beetle and type 3 bugpack silencer. I accidentally ordered a beetle one first of all and it appears exactly the same.

Status VW also do them.

oh good an easy job then. Only trouble is I wont have any heating after fitting the j tubes but then my heater system's shot anyway.

Damn you're a clever bunch.

This may seem a daft question but please bare in mind I'm not technically minded.

How do you fit J tubes? I have my 4 into 1 header but do j tubes have to be welded or are they bolt ons or what?

See crap question.

That's what I thought but apparently EMPI moved the flange round so they only fit EMPI silencers. I think i've got an EMPI header but I'm not sure.

you can get adapters which are for us beetle doors that have the threade in them. they just require drilling 3 holes for the screws.

You're not wrong about the front being ripped off, mine seems to take ding every other day.

what it doesnt show in the type 3 selecta pic is the spare wheel well which is even lower than the front edge. you may have to take your out if you go that low.

you'll probably need a narrowed front beam if you want it to look exactly like your pic. then you could also have it on bags and the world's your oyster :)

i've just checked their website and the brake pads part no. DP104 are used on the rear of all of the volvos mentioned apart from the 850 which doesnt mention the same number so that may be a mistake.

I havent checked the mercedes.
