Going to resurrect this after the conversation I had with the nice chaps on the Type3&4 stand at Stanford Hall today.

There's still some debate about whether 311 heads are made from stronger AS21 alloy though.

The height of this one is 378mm, but the 2mm difference wouldn't fill the 5mm gap I have, I'll see what WCM say tomorrow!

Thanks Dave,

The first sign of trouble was when I didn't have to force the screen with the rubber on into the tailgate aperture ready for peeling the string, it has a gap of about 5mm at the top between rubber and frame :thumbsdown:

Glass is marked AVW so I guess that's locally made?

Squareback rear screen glass height?

I've just received a full set of seals from WCM and wanted to replace the one really bad and leaking seal which was the rear screen. Long story short either seal is wrong, not fat enough in profile, or the glass itself is smaller on my antipodean Squareback then a European/US Squareback. So has anyo...

I did this in my Bay, CJ code 2ltr Type 4.

You might find that the casting lines on both the heads and the block are rough and split the seal edges as they go in, I used a bearing scrapper and wet & dry to smooth these lines out.
