Re: Headlamp mounting bracket
Thanks Peter. Looking at maybe changing the whole bowl as it's in pretty bad shape. Am I right in thinking that the late beetle ones are the same?

Headlamp mounting bracket
Hi, Does anyone know where I can source the bracket that the headlamp screws into (type 3 '72)? Someone used a woodscrew to fix it on and the bracket has rusted away.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Bonnet seal rubbers
Has anyone an experience with the rubbers from Just Kampers? Any good or worth paying more elsewhere?

Tyre Advice
Hi All,
Looking to order some new wheels for my '72 square. It's at stock height etc. I'm probably going to go with BRM's but wanted a bit of input re the tyres. What do you reckon size wise?

Re: Starting problems
Dave, as usual, you are magnificent! Mine is a 72 and so have now purchased the part you so kindly gave me the number for. I was confunsed when browsing the GSF web-site as it showed two different switches and said they were both compatible. Having not yet removed the old switch it was hard to check...

Re: Starting problems
Coming back to haunt you! :) So, I had the starter motor changed as I was feeling unwell and my mechanic was feeling generous. Starting problems are persisting though- mech maintains that starter was faulty anyway. The problem I'm having is at the plug on the steering column. It was firing if turnin...

Thanks Dave. That's what I was after. I couldn't find it on my log book or any documentation online.
Will get a lap-belt ASAP.

how many seats in t3?
Hi All,
Just humour me here... How many is a T3 legally allowed to carry?
I only have 4 seat belts but wondered if you're ok to carry a fifth person.

Re: Starting problems
So at step 3 I got a decent spark but just a whizzing sound - not what I expected the starter to sound like. Should I have held it on longer?

Starting problems
Hi All, My t3 squareback won't start. At first it was only when the battery had been under heavy load or after very short journeys but in the past couple of days it has only started with push or as I did this morning with a jump started battery pack attached. I assumed that the battery needed replac...

Hi All, Firstly a big 'Thanks' to all who gave advice/listened to me moan about my non-starting variant. I managed to get an output transistor changed in the FI brain and my woes were over....well for now anyway. :) I'm all MOT'd and razzing around town like a good'un. Can anyone fill me in on the p...

Hiya All, My 72 Square 1500 recently stopped working with a bang and lots of smoke. I'm hoping to get it going again, have limited knowledge but lots of enthusiasm. I opened the distributor to change the points (which are badly pitted) and found a load of gunk lying in the bottom of it. http://farm7...

window help 412 sedan
Hi Guys,
Hope you can help me again...
Does anyone know if a beetle window mechanism fits a 412 sedan 1973? It's a front window. If so - which year and if not any suggestions for where to look?
Thanks,
melanie

412ls fuel line? identification help
Hi All, This question will probably seem really silly but here goes anyway... Car won't start - look in the engine bay and I see that the air cleaner is unclipped from one of the carbs so I re-fit and notice a braided hose which I take to be a fuel line that's just lying around attached at the carb ...
