Re: Beachbuggin 10th August
Thanks Kai
Anyone else interested in doing Beachbuggin this year?
We've only got two cars at the moment so not enough to book a club stand...
I need to confirm this week, so if anyone else is interested please can you let me know asap.
Cheers,
Ian

Does anyone want to join a club display again this year?
I can't go this year because I'll be on holiday, but I'm happy to arrange the club stand and PurplePete has offered to run things on the day.

Great location for a VW show and raising money for a good cause. There was a good turn out of VWs last year including a couple of Type 3s.
I'm hoping to go again this year, albeit in my Camper not my Fasty!

Looks like my Fasty's not going to make it, my engine's started making a terminal sounding death rattle under load
No chance to fix before the show, so i'll probably be there in my Beetle.

Re: Primary/exhaust copper crush rings
Thanks both. No luck on eBay. Found an engineering company that makes copper gaskets in all sizes. It's a bit academic now though. I ordered what I thought was a stock exhaust, but it's actually significantly different. No facility to refit the primary heater boxes, these are replaced by adapter pip...

Primary/exhaust copper crush rings
Hi, anyone know where I can get these? Have tried various places but no luck. Was thinking of buying a stock exhaust from Status but they don't sell the crush rings either. Also, I want to replace the large jubilee style clips that clamp the rubber air intake to the fan and bodywork, but can't get t...

Re: Front brakes 1970 fastback
Thanks for the advice both. It does seem more like a sticking caliper than worn pads. We checked the pads not that many miles ago when changing wheel bearings and there was plenty of life in them, so would be surprised if they had worn that much in that time. The brake pipes and hoses had all been r...

Front brakes 1970 fastback
Hi all, While driving my Fasty on a local journey today the LHF brake started making a continuous squeaking noise. On checking I found the disc was very hot, so I'm guessing the pad has worn down and the metal backing has started rubbing on the disc. Having said that, the brakes are working fine and...
