Re: 1971 VW Type 3 Fastback

]Very kind of you! Lets try and bring this nonsense up to date then. I started welding the panel in and trimming sections as I went. https://nylghw.ch.files.1drv.com/y4m0i9ryPjeHFSOy12VHrvo6Hx3Y1bDLKnxndJwxzjZLwkgc-QTH_uYm697jck62wvH8NgADx39DFmxcqSvqYZJP9qZx1STdjrF5c_wF4g3rrecXiIaAusDMgRwF4iMBM16Wpt...

Re: Rolling Road

Now these cards do not work out of the box. They never will. They originally fitted a bedford CF van. Someone many years ago took one of the CF van carbs and got Chinese company to copy it. Unfortunately they copied exactly with the same jets and tubes in. That is what gets supplied today to VW own...

Re: Rolling Road

Now then, what jets are you running?
Main
Idle
Air correction
Emulsion tubes?

Why did you put webers 34s on? they arent really a very good carb for these engines to be honest.

Re: 1971 VW Type 3 Fastback

I can see how lacking a garage or patients would make it more difficult though :D Do you do medical work too :) :D I might book myself in. Seriously, how long did it take to fab that inner wing up - a full day and how thick is the steel you are using for replacement panels? I'm not big on blood and...

Re: 1971 VW Type 3 Fastback

Right trying to catch up with the posts vs reality! I began fabbing up the new panel. CAD was a major player in this, as i started I notice this bow in the seal channel. https://da6orw.ch.files.1drv.com/y4m7Dj5ptWy84r7ZiysXMOWwi-9SVP7py0HRExXxWoSJziaLo3wBjku1yMFNDb4WykAtnAqmV6c40O-j7KkOGJQE-qgvBEgvX...

Re: Inner wing panel

A wealth of knowledge! I suppose it was a cheap fix without redesigning the full inner wing. But obviously a water trap. Might or might not bother with fitting them but. If you have one it would be very handy to use it as a pattern

Good to see you got some indicator lens' in the end. where did you get them from?
Genuine Hella lenses from Italy, clear lenses are standard spec on cars there.
Aye, i meant which company did you get them from, given your earlier issues with C n C

Re: Gearbox mounting

No replacements available as far as I know, the usual suppliers are still setting the same bit as I fitted and you will have to modify it.

There is a firm called butser rubber which will make you new ones. but it will be pricey! Maybe get a batch of 10 or so done and sell them to recover your costs?
