Tie Rod ends help...
Hi folks, Am refurbishing my 1970's beam and want to replace the tie rod ends. The Tech Web has this helpful diagram: http://www.vwtype3and4club.org.uk/type3/T3pbo/T3pb4-22.php ...that shows 3 different parts (8,8,9,10), but no part numbers. ISP West has this great interactive diagram https://www.vw...

Re: Late / 3-point seat interchangeability
Cheers Angelo. Will start looking for Corrado (and Scirocco) seats,
...and thanks for the inspiration. I suspect I wouldn't have ended up with a type 3 if it wasn't for you!

Late / 3-point seat interchangeability
Hi all, The front seats in my late fasty are somewhat tired. I'd like to replace them, and whilst I'd be happy to find some proper type 3 replacements, I wondered if later VW 3-point seats (and/or any other seats - Porsche etc...) will fit directly on my existing runners... Many thanks for helpful r...

Re: Are these Type 4 Headlight surrounds?
Cheers Guys - sorry for the pretty useless original photo. I've since been back to my friend's garage where he is patiently looking after them with a load of other bits and got this pic of the rear of one of them: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_1_lhAL65rnk/TAEy3-bHZQI/AAAAAAAABpA/uDPolNuxrbU/s400/2010-05-29%...

Are these Type 4 Headlight surrounds?
I recently cleared out a garage of type 3 parts after the original owner had unfortunately died. A lot of it was beyond repair, some of it was great and is now making its way on to my car, and then some of it had me scratching my head, including these: Can you help me identify what these are? I was ...

Hiya Rev B! I love the special accessory solid tow-rope. I remember this from the shell it was on VZi... Any news on your donkey/old van? (can't remember its name - sorry!) You may not remember me, but you gave me loads of advice of what to look for on my 1st type 3... which I proceeded to pretty mu...

Flywheel oil seal
Hi, Just got back from my 1st show of the year, and I now definitely have an oil leak. 5ltrs of oil for 360 miles = problem. I suspect that it's the flywheel oil seal: *The oil seems to be coming from between the engine and gearbox *It's also coming out around the starter motor *The clutch is slippi...

Future plans (need to put this on to help kick myself into doing them): Rear seatbelts - friends get worried at the lack of safety features and would be happier to go in the car more frequently with them Gentle (1 spline) lowering to the front - can't whack it too hard with the stick due to road con...

2005 passed slowly, and then, around August time, I was told all was well and that the car was ready. Oh, and that more stuff had had to be done to get it through the MOT(!?!??!), and I owed another hefty wodge of cash. This is where the good people of R-R helped out and suggested things which helpe...

...I had said I was in no desperate rush (as I was struggling to afford it!). Took out a loan to pay the 70% deposit required, and work commenced at a gradual pace. I stripped the car there in a couple of weekends, and then the work started proper: Chassis: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/mdaw...

1972 Fastback
I bought my car on 21st August 2002. I was moving to the Isle of Wight to live with my girlfriend who had a job here, and had decided to keep it. I needed something running, and big enough to move house in (my brother had inherited my last Panda, and the bug was in pieces). I was really after an air...

Early fuel tank in a later car
...as the subject suggests, I'm looking to put in an early fuel tank ('61-'67) into my '72 fastback so that the filler is under the bonnet.
has anyone done this before? is the footprint the same? does anything foul - what problems can I expect to face?
