Re: Rusty floorpan edges

Thanks for the advice s.unsworth and brimfull. I'm going to try fabricate a new edge myself and weld it on! I already orderd parts from typ3konny, they are very helpfull and fast! Does T3D also have a lot of parts on stock? T3D used to have lots in stock but I've not ordered from them in a while so...

Re: Rusty floorpan edges

I bought some short edge pieces from T3D but that was a while ago. Tbh you could probably make them easy enough as it's just a flat section and it'd save you quite a bit of money too

Re: How much should I pay to lower my type 3 fasty

If you are a bit handy and have a few tools you can lower it yourself for free, there's plenty of info on the net about how to do it. As its a 72 it has IRS so prob won't camber in much if you lower it more. What wheels does it have as ones for a Beetle have a different offset and often catch on T3s?

Re: VW Notchback sill panels

Sometimes turn up on ebay or a some German specialists do them too. It's actually in a few bits -outer, inner (which is hard to find but not bad to make) and the part inside the car.
Have a look through a few project pages on here and you'll see what I mean.

The ones on Mapperley top had a Beetle with a Morris Traveller back on it, cleverly called "Boris" . I found a Johnny's Speed and Chrome catalogue I'd got from them in 87/88 in the garage a while ago - old gits It helped on the dogleg pan bit that I was doing the inner wing and channel too so ...

Dogleg pan bit is fitting ok, much easier than the bloody dogleg bit of the front channel was :retard:

Re: Floorpan edges

Thanks Mark, not the dogleg bit as I've got that from T3D but just the straight edge under the door. Should probably be easy enough to make but I was hoping to just get a repair section.
Nothing's ever that simple on type 3 is it?

Floorpan edges

Does anyone know if the T3 floorpan edge profile where it bolts up to the heater channel is the same size and shape as a Beetle? I need a couple of bits and would imagine Beetle would be easier to get hold of. Ta in advance :-)
