Re: Which Engine Mounts
I have a late type 3 (IRS) to which I added an early (SA) sub frame that has had the IRS pivot brackets welded in. I also run the rear (late) mount bar. I have a type 4 motor in it but same principle. I'd recommend you run the rear support bar with frame horns also. The late type 3 'box does have th...

Re: 73’ fastback
We done AAron, saw it at UD this year. That's my mate Paul giving you the trophy :) I'm on the Wirral not far from you so hope to see you around once this Covid lark is over ! I got 7.5's wide wheels on mine and thought I did well! Always thought I could squeeze 8's on, but 8.5's respect!...

Re: Type 3 Windscreen...
Still considering it.
Price was a bit of shocker but shouldn't be a surprise these days I guess.
My main issue would be that it fitted properly after the bad experience I had with a Triplex one albeit that was over 2 decades ago.

Re: Help! Fastback Body Removal
I've just been looking at my fasty build photos, I think you've got them all, they chassis/body joint has a real sticky mastic type seal, it may be just this holding it together. try a trolley jack with a good bit of wood on top and jack up under somewhere like the rear engine mount hangers and see ...

Re: Vw Type 3 Performance brakes
I'm running CSP vented (slotted) discs with Mk1 golf GTI calipers - these bolt straight onto late model stub axles. I did originally run Audi coupe calipers (54mm bore) but could easily lock up the front end so the GTI (48mm) much better). Remember the weight of the car is rear biased so over brakin...
