Re: Stonor Park VW Meeting 4 June 2017
Pencil me in for the one please. Never been before and it's pretty much just up the road. Although the wife is due to drop another baby the week before. Could be a problem.

You have beetle mirrors fitted, type 3 ones are specific to type 3's, they don't have the extending arm.

Re: My Notchback.... One for the haters
Since my MOT, I've been apprehensive to admit it to myself ( and everybody else) but the cars been down on power. If I think back I'm sure I felt something pop as it came on boost but could just be in my head. So since then I've been searching on subaru sights for my symptoms which are, drives fun o...

Well it appears nowadays there isn't much to do to the car apart from hunt down annoying rattles. Happy days. Found this, the exhaust hanger was slightly rubbing against the rear bumper resulting in a terrible squeaking noise. Shortened http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b37/redevol/D6F47FEE-5901-455...

Re: My Notchback.... One for the haters
Since the front end was modified, I've always had a problem with the steering UJ's giving me the sensation that they're out of sync. They had a tight spot every 180 degrees of steering input. The particular UJ's are connected with a HEX bar made no difference regardless of how I rotated them. £110 l...

Re: new wheels catching - ok to grind down the caliper?
I'm going with warped discs The caliper is fixed, it doesn't float like a more modern type of caliper. The disc "could" move with some serious effort but if this is the case then the movement is going to be coming via the wheel bearing/hubs which would obviously needing adjustment or even the actual...

Re: Why are there 2 thick wires going to my starter?
Take the cable "OFF" the spade connector and reconnect the battery and let us know the results. If the starter motor is running it's because it's got +12v on that spade connector, or the starter motor is faulty. You would like to think that the starter motor would have been tested before it was rele...

Re: Shipping From Europe.
To my knowledge, if you hold a UK driving license, under no circumstances are you to drive a car with foreign plates on UK soil. I suppose the reasoning is that the cops or DVLA can't get in touch with you for what ever reason as they don't have a record of the owner of the foreign reg. I never drov...

I can't see that overhang of the tyres getting through an MoT! Won't you need wheel arch work, or some sort of extension? My understanding and in my own experience, this should lead to 4 advisories. Apparently although illegal which would require enforcement by the police, this should not contribut...

Re: My Notchback.... One for the haters
Well the beamer is broken again. Which coincidentally meant I had to stay at home today as I can't work without the car. Does mean commuting by train tomorrow morning very early but it's worth it if I get a day at home to spend on the Notch. And what a productive days it's been. I started off by swa...

Ah didn't spot the angle one, looks good.
I don't need the reverse lock out with my car. my last gearstick I took the ring off the gear stick, might do it again with this one, see how I feel.

Holy crap that's an expensive shifter. Just looked them up. It does look nice and I can imagine at that price the quality is very good. Although for me I need the racked back version like the Empi one as I'm so far back in cab.

me too :) I swapped it for another Empi one, cost me £44 for the shifter and a speedo cable for he T25 so was a no brainer when it came to the cost. The difference was astounding, no more slop in neutral now and has a defined shift pattern. The empi shifter has a metal ball inside a plastic cup esse...

Update.... it's been a while. I've been giving my camper van all the love recently. I've been finding that my notch has simply been working against me for some time. But seeing as my campervan is extremely well behaved and has zero issues it's time to get the notch back up and running. Today's tasks...

Hi Danny, I'll be there again this year. You can put me down on a reserve list if you like, I'm local to the show and bring my car up at short notice if somebody pulls out.
Will there be a deafening sound system blasting everybody's brains out again this year?
