Re: '67 Square continued.....

No idea.
The pedal’s soft with the rear discs, but rock hard with rear drums.

Re: '67 Square continued.....

Yes, I did read your thread. Was hoping that CSP had sorted the issue by now.
I’ve already got a 944 master cylinder fitted, but can’t get adequate pressure to the rear calipers. The brakes work, but the pedal’s soft.

Re: '67 Square continued.....

Hopefully this might force a bit more fluid to the rear calipers and get rid of my soft brake pedal.

So it was worth marking as being from the left but not worth reassembling in that same position.

I'm sure it's fine, just a bit strange and confusing for me
I'm sure it was on his left

What are we doing about camping on the Saturday night?

You'll have to sort that via their website.

Yes, spent a few hours trawling through the Samba looking for similar issues.
I'm not au fait with swing axle transmissions, to be honest they're a pain in the ass. Much prefer IRS where you can remove the gearbox without leaving the vehicle immobile.

Aircooled Campout 2020, 3rd-5th July 2020

Fir Trees Campsite, Banbury, OX17 1JL As you've probably seen due to the May day Bank Holiday moving this has an a knock on effect on the Earlybay Campout for 2020 as our usual weekend has been booked. We are however still running the aircooled campout in July again and you are all more than welcome...

Replacement fulcrum plates and side gears apparently.
No fault admitted, but only charged me £40.

I've got a set of early and late front hubs and brakes.
They're in my lock-up, so can't measure them at the moment.

Re: Wing mirrors

There should be a spring that fits above the dome nut, and yes, a flexible washer behind the mirror stops the paint being damaged.

Hopefully it will all be sorted tomorrow.

Update: gearbox has been left for a full strip and rebuild, but no fault has been admitted.

Re: '67 Square continued.....

I think that the biggest issue is with the rebuilt gearbox and/or the fitment of the axles/tubes. You could select gears easily enough, but when driving a loud aggressive banging and shuddering would happen at wheel speed. It was random at first, but happens all the time now. I'm off to Stoke-on Tre...

Plenty of 70's era correct electrical gauges for sale on eBay, if you get a VW/Audi/Porsche VDO gauge the senders are still available.

Re: '67 Square continued.....

The saga to date. I haven't driven the car more than 20 miles since the gearbox was installed due to the drivetrain issues. It's just sitting on the road outside the house deteriorating. But last weekend I finally managed to get it down to Nick's and use his facilities to remove the offending transm...
