Re: Stabiliser re-dimpling

Thanks Peter I'll get the setscrew out to examine after work one night this week. The adjuster screw on the drivers side (off side), feels like it's adjusting fine with a fair bit to go, I'm merely tightening until the lock tab is finger tight, then fastening the locking bolt and lock nut above it. ...

Re: Stabiliser re-dimpling

Just browsing the Bentley again, it has a note to check the setscrew, as it calls it, on the upper left torsion arm. I'm guessing this would the the one that locates into the dimple on the bar?

Stabiliser re-dimpling

Well I've adjusted my upper arms numerous times now, only yesterday using Peters technique involving hammer and wood to make sure the bar is in position. Followed guides on here and the technique in the brown Bentley before re greasing the beam. Unfortunately I still can't eliminate the play on the ...

IRS Trailing Arm Bushes

Whilst under the car the other day I noticed these looked quite old and cracked. At what point should I consider them to require changing?

Re: Late Air Filter Question

This is further complicated by mine originally being FI, which apparently didn't have it...(my car has both fuel lines in tunnel for the return, and compartment for the brain, so think it was FI originally).

Re: Late Air Filter Question

I still need to take a pic... from research it seems it's a feature on '71 carb cars, but beyond that I've not found much more apart from hints it may hook up to the head or even a heat exchanger. Obviously I'd like it to be as it should be, rather than open. If it means I should block it for now an...

Late Air Filter Question

My 1971 oil bath air filter has a inlet underneath, just after the connection to the the main intake boot, by the flap mechanism. As long as I have had the car this has just been open to the engine bay, should it be connected with a hose to something? I'll try to get a picture in the morning to illu...

Re: Instrument Panel Illuminations

Sounds like yours is healthier than the one that came in mine, but the actual switch unit in mine was toast, so I had no internal illumination(but everything else worked). Changing the switch unit fixed that. Hopefully yours just needs turning up tho! :)

Yeah I got a good deal on the shifter for her for Valentines or birthday a few years ago, hers is the angled one which I like. I really like it with a ball:

Yeah, at that price we can't really complain. My wife has a CSP 60% reduced throw butterfly in her 1303S, and everytime I drive it I want one lol

Re: My Notchback.... One for the haters

Glad to hear you're getting somewhere mate :)

Your Empi shifter got me thinking. I think a lot of the innards are plastic which no doubt wear with use(I intend to switch my Hurst style one out in the near future for this reason). What did you swap out for in the end?

Have a look on here...I think I ordered the 66-67 trim for my 71, but if in doubt, contact ISP and check which would be correct for your year European spec low-back seats:
