Re: I'm really cold!!!
Managed to purloin the father in law's spare eber...just gotta figure out how to install it!! Still gonna look into getting some exchangers back on to take advantage of some free cabin heat when its not arctic conditions but the prospect of being able to set an eber to come on at 5 in the morning so...

Re: I'm really cold!!!
The fresh air vents have been blocked up and smoothed out unfortunately!! The screen always clears with both windows and 1/4 lights open...although sometimes only just as I'm turning into my street!! Haha!!

Re: I'm really cold!!!
Looks like it'll have to be a 12v heater to clear up the screen a bit for the time being and try and pry the father in law's spare eber from his greasy mitts for when I want to actually be warm!!

I figured they were gonna be pretty lacklustre...I'm not really worried about heating, I'd just like to be able to see where I'm going!!

Got no heating system ancillaries at all...they were completely removed by the previous owner!! Don't even know if the channels have got heater tubes in them since they were replaced!! So, a retrofit system is really my only option...just need to know what I can get away with!!

I'm really cold!!!
Hi all, I've got no heat exchangers and I like driving whilst wearing less than an Eskimo and being able to see where I'm going!! Funds won't allow for an ebber, so I've been looking at a 300 watt 12v fan heater for cars which draws 25 Amps and was wondering if this would be viable or if it'd just d...

Thanks all, advice gratefully received!! The fasty is the only jalopy I've had that she'll drive...she loves it!! We argue about who's the designated driver when we go out, cos we both want to be!! Haha!!

Re: Engine problem
Hi Dave, Thanks for the reply. The car's sorted now mate, the oil was coming from 2 cracked pushrod tubes, so I've just replaced 'em. The bogging down and poor running was apparently a separate problem which just happened to come at the same time...the fuel line to the nearside carb had split and wa...

Hi all, The missus took my fasty as her ride to work this morning, leaving me with the familymobile...however, she turned up in my work car park later, telling me that my car was knackered and she wanted the practical one back!! I went out on my break to find oil running into the drain behind my car...

Re: More bloody electrical woes!!!
I remember you telling me mate. Did the front loom you had off me work ok?
I've disconnected the wire from the sidelights to the fusebox to see if the fuse blows again, so at least I've got both rear lights again and I can see if it's that circuit that's blowing 'em!!
Thank

Hi all, more electrical nastiness to report I'm afraid!! Had an indicator/ hazard problem which has been sorted only for a new one to rear it's ugly head. The fuse for my sidelights/drivers side rear light is constantly blowing...literally within seconds of turning the headlights on!! Also, my headl...

Re: Late Fasty indicator gremlins!!!
Thanks very much for the wiring diagram Dave, I'm gonna need it!! My main beam has stopped working now, which is making me think it's something in the stalk wiring that's playing up. The hazards are trying to work now (a whirring noise coming from the flasher unit) but still nothing from the indicat...

Late Fasty indicator gremlins!!!
Hi all, Having a bit of trouble with a couple of electrical gremlins in my '70 fasty, and haven't got a bloody clue what's going on!! My hazard lights packed up, which I stuck on the to do list, but then the indicators started behaving erratically, so i took out the fuses, cleaned them and the spade...

Re: I've bought a tea bag!!!
Thanks for getting back, Jon, I'll check your resto out for some tips.
I thought about making some panels myself to plate out the inner wings...it's just that the floorpan edges and seams for heater channels and stuff look a bit specific for a cushion and hammer!! Haha!!
Thanks again,
Gaz

I've bought a tea bag!!!
Hi all, I'm new on here and new to type 3's, but I already need help. I bought a '71 fasty as a project on a bit of a whim to be honest, cos I'd always really liked them. However, on closer inspection it seems that it has some areas of pretty bad rot that I hadn't realised when i bought it. Both fro...
