Re: Master cylinder fluid leak

If it’s creeping up the center hole, I would put it down to the fact that either the centre hole in the grommet is too large or the plastic elbow’s outer diameter is too small. Could try heating the elbow with a heat gun and forcing something inside of tube part in an attempt to increase the outer d...

Re: Master cylinder fluid leak

As Kai says, check You've got proper brake hose & Those elbows look like beetle ones.. I thought Type 3 ones are/were 90 degrees to avoid the track rods fouling with the low pressure lines Yes this is a very good point. I encountered this with my 944 matercylinder. When the front end was jacked up ...

Re: Master cylinder fluid leak

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I too have very much felt the same way with my project. As is the way £££ Will solve everything lol. One thing to try, swap the rubber grommets and elbows front to back. This should either pin point the elbow and grommet as the fault or the hole in the master cylinder...

Oh dear, what a swine. To think all that effort getting the out wagon ready and it throws that at this back at you. Soon you’ll have replaced everything. And it’ll just reward you with many happy years cruising to shows. Feel for you, I chose to stay at home and gave it a miss this year. Perhaps nex...

Re: '67 Square continued.....

Wow!!! That’s a tough MOT you’ve had. Least you get piece of mind it needs attention and can be sorted correctly. When I first MOT’s my Notch with those brakes I failed to do up the four bearing cap bolts. Left a small amount of play in the bearing. It was obvious what I had done. The guy testing it...

Re: CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY FOR IMPORTED SQUAREBACK

I recall with my Cheetah, DVLA kindly highlighted that the information I had entered did not correspond to the Dutch data I had submitted. I queued them stating that I personally do not speak Dutch and asked them to clarify which area of information I had submitted which did not match the Dutch info...

Re: CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY FOR IMPORTED SQUAREBACK

Have you completed the nova1 form from HMRC? Also I know the V55 has plenty of space to capture loads of information however it’s not required to have every criteria filled in to deem the log book information complete. My Cheetah I imported in 2014, has the following information on the log book. Dat...

Re: My Notchback.... One for the haters

Hi Angelo, happy new year. My laminated screen is an old one a friend of mine was holding onto, I’m unsure to the brand. I do recall reading about your issues with your triplex screen. This screen ive got, It’s not a perfect reproduction to the VW screen but does fit ok. Incidentally I did enquire i...

Re: My Notchback.... One for the haters

Small up date, Managed to finish off my tiny rust patch. I got bored of grinding the welds done so just painted over what I had done. Apart from the paint you wouldnt notice the repair. I did forget to get a picture when the wheel was off so just a terrible one to show. Lady, I haven’t got the patie...

Re: '67 Square continued.....

Quite the collection you’ve got going on there...

You know you can drive that large fan pulley off by using two long bolts in the threaded bolts.

Just be careful what the bolts push against as it’ll crack the aluminium fan housing it you drive it straight into there. You need to spread the load.
