Can any one tell me if there is a difference between beetle and type3 chrome window trim found a company selling it in 5 meter lengths plastic coated chrome , not the original metal one . Will it be ok to use

Thanks sorry to confuse issues , it's a 32 solex carb top I require the bracket for the filter is broken off . I have some one on the forum sorting me out . I will look at the link you posted thanks graham

I got two engine when I bought my square back the one I am fitting has balance pipes to the carb manifold is the correct set up . So lex 32 carbs . I have stripped down one engine for parts . And thought I could use the head off one off the carbs but they are different . And we're is the best place ...

Bulkhead area in trunk

Hi my 1972 square back has had its bulkhead cut open at the top , and replaced with a lid and hinges to access the air intake . Can anyone send me pics or advise on replacing this to original . its not rotten just been chopped open I think . Was thinking of leaving it but replacing with nicer frame ...

best to get the wheels first and then measure up if you want max tyres. i would say 4.5 on front and 5.5j on back - ideally with ET42 wheels. depending on what look you're after - a tried and tested would be 195/65/15 on back and 145/15 on front for classic stance - prob get fatter tyres on but bes...

planning lowering 2 notch front . 1 on rear with steel wheels what size wheel on rear and front with largest tyre possible with no rubbing . best place buy correct steel wheel with correct offset

thanks for the pics . i sub contract to a big engineering company will ask one off the boys to do mine . also some one on hear is selling the front discs and ma swap the rear hubs for my 4 stud thanks for the help first type 3 .

whats the best way to covert to 5 stud 130 from 4 stud so i can get a better offset wheel . and if i lower it 2 splines front and 1 at the back tyres and rim size

yes got a spare engine too was seized bit diesel turned ok stripped it down good for spares also got 2400 dollars parts full interior seat carpets all the seals lots more thank god . now i see prices

Take some tomorrow roof stripped in primer . Sand down drivers side sat . Wings doors tailgate bonnet soda blasted next week .

well stripped right down back to metal found 4 small pin hole at window .2 inch rust door pillar small plate needed couple small holes to sills that s it car has been wax oiled all over , bonus . always think the worst when you start stripping it back to metal

Thanks for the info looking to have it lowered slightly but still have good ride will hunt about when ready for bigger offset that's again . Can you still get aftermarket bumpers and trim ok or is it hunt it down job thanks g

hi all just picked up a 1972 square back project . looking for advise on lowering / wheel size its 4 stud . or can you convert to 5 stud . best place for parts . air bags all around/ can you fit early style bumpers on later model . be on asking for more advised thanks g
