Re: Rubber seals
Search for notch1500 as a seller on ebay, it's a chap called Simon apparently who supplies the seals to ISP west, he's the guy who supplied them to Marko. I've got ISP West glass, bonnet, boot and door seals all round and they seem pretty good so far. They take the scrapers too. that is correct, fo...

Re: Window Rubbers advice
Anyone tried the Type 3 Window rubbers Custom and Commercial are currently selling? Simon supplies them! he doesn't like posting them out as it's hassle for returns or something like that, he did tell me. I emailed him through eBay and we met up at a show, £50 for 2 screen seals and the quality is ...

Re: 1968 1600TL Fastback Automatic

Re: 1968 1600TL Fastback Automatic
just done the leaky axle seal again, hopefully it won't drip now but only time will tell! the stub axle had a little bit of pitting and a shiny rut where the old seal was so rubbed this down with some used 1500 wet and dry paper before rebuilding it. my damn clock stopped again and I'm loosing faith...

Re: 1968 1600TL Fastback Automatic

Re: 1968 1600TL Fastback Automatic
all done and finished, quite a happy bunny now and the diff seems to have stopped leaking oil too! so must have just been residue and the fact I ran it with no engine breather for a while so may have blown a bit of oil past the rear main oil seal. only time will tell and for now there's no oil dripp...

I painted it today, might cut it back tomorrow and refit the refurb'd oil filler cap and sticker all I did with the cap was put a zip wheel in a drill to polish it up somewhat then clear-coat it

all primed and on 2nd round of stopper just catch any of those small imperfections 8) when it'[s all painted up I have an "<OIL" sticker to go on and I'm also giving the dipstick/filler cap a bit of a freshen up with new gaskets and a repaint. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y172/19mark70/Mobile%20...

Re: 1968 1600TL Fastback Automatic
seen as though I have some paintwork on the roof to do because I removed the bee sting aerial, I thought I would sort the rear slam panel out as I was never happy with it.. it had some ripples in the metalwork and wasn't prepared very well so it's getting a bit of TLC! http://i5.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: Some work on my 67 Fastback
love the steering wheel, what type is it? I'm thinking of fitting something similar maybe with a full chrome horn push/boss. there is a knack to getting screens in and if any trim is sitting a bit proud afterwards then a light tap with a rubber mallet can improve things by squashing the C trim down....

I hope so, most ISP stuff is OK but it's the same with any after-market VW stuff, you just have to be careful and buy the best you can find!

I'm not finished yet! the eagle eyed will have noticed I ditched the roof aerial today as well, it was my chance to get rid of it whilst the rear screen was out so have filled the hole and put a bit of primer on it until I do it right. got to repaint the rear slam panel (where the oil filler is) soo...

Re: 1968 1600TL Fastback Automatic
today I fitted the new front and rear screens along with new chrome inserts, it was a joy to use the new seals, so supple and gave no grief going in! also fitted a better screen whilst I was at it as the old one had lots of marks and chips in it. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y172/19mark70/Mobile...

Re: Torque converter oil seal material?
engine oil appears to be spraying off the TC but not dripping down the join in the engine case, that's what I don't get! I'll run it for a while and see if it goes away :D as for the axle seal, I was meticulous when installing the stub axles and to be fair there isn't a lot to go wrong there unless ...

Re: Torque converter oil seal material?
got everything back in and running but I have 2 oil leaks :( one from one of the axle seals I just fitted so this may just be a case of pulling the CV off and taking axle flange out again but why would it fail straight away? it's the actual seal not my home made gasket :D the other oil leak is reall...
