Re: '67 Square continued.....
Have a good trip! Enjoy Ninove.... ;-) Thanks Ed, Adam, I did, but the square never came with me. I have oil pressure issues at the moment so the bus came to the rescue. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/sparkywig/Ninove%202017/005_zpswef0ssox.jpg I was a bit gutted to be honest that the squ...

Re: '67 Square continued.....
So, it's home at last. MOT'd, taxed and insured. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/sparkywig/1967%20Variant/012_zpsvsuqsuro.jpg Got a few perforation issues with the floorpans and lower inner wings, so it was decided to do enough metalwork for the MOT and get to Ninove, and then order a pair ...

Had a minor issue with the rear brakes, the rear drums awash with brake fluid. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/sparkywig/1967%20Variant/005%203_zps1nvazge2.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/sparkywig/1967%20Variant/006%203_zpsunjjomxs.jpg New rear wheel cylinders and shoes sorted...

Great Squareback you have there dude. Hope to catch up at a show this year maybe. Cheers. Adam. Hello Adam it looks good from 30m. I'll hopefully have the square in Ninove next weekend. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/sparkywig/1967%20Variant/t3%20signature_zpshavoitis.jpg

The shift plate is in place, and the Berg shifter comes with it's own plate.

Re: rotating gearshift
I've changed the shift rod/gearbox coupler and it has reduced the amount of slop, but it still pops out of the front shift rod cup.
Can anybody measure the distance between the pivot point and the base of the ball on their stock gearstick please?
Thanks.

Re: rotating gearshift
No, the shift rod doesn't move up and down and the front bush is fine.
The gear stick just seems to have too much side to side movement, if you're not gentle when selecting a gear, the ball pops out of the shift rod.

Re: rotating gearshift
I've got this problem on my '67. Loads of slop and the shifter ball pops out of the shift rod cup.
Tried swapping to a Berg shifter, but then I can't select reverse and either 1st and 2nd, or 3rd or 4th, depending on the location of the gear shift base.
Any ideas?

Re: '67 Square continued.....
I'll sort the gaps and modify the engine hatch after I've got an MOT. The new carbs and CSP bellcrank linkage went on today and it's runs lovely, especially now the plug leads are on in the right order. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/sparkywig/1967%20Variant/012_zpsib8clq7a.jpg http:...

Perhaps these will cure the rough running. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/sparkywig/1967%20Variant/006%202_zps3vn8zf6l.jpg No body modifications required to fit apparently. :| http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/sparkywig/1967%20Variant/011%202_zps74hqktv3.jpg http://i251.photobucket....

Engine in and running at last, although not as well as I would like. I'll get some proper plug leads later. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/sparkywig/1967%20Variant/018_zpshroyshas.jpg Got a slight gear shift issue as well, the shifter keeps popping out of the shift rod when going into, but...

Re: '67 Square continued.....
So, engine almost ready to refit. The lack of carb linkage rods may be a bit of an issue though. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/sparkywig/1967%20Variant/073_zps6dgu0vxc.jpg I'll give it a tidy up and some proper plug leads when it's running again and the car is mobile. The outer door scrapers have been letting water in as well, and the door sound deadening material has trapped the moisture and rotted the offside door out from the inside. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/sparkywig/1967%20Variant/024_zpsokph3tpe.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/s...
