REY 148K ..Where are you....?

Post by Typethreeman » 5th November 2018 - 3:52pm

Am looking for my old fastback ,REY 148K.
Sold it back in the late 80s...…( what the hell was I thinking about...crazy fool)
1600E.....went all over in that car absolutely superb.
Was sold at the time whilst I was living in Finchley , Nth London to " If I remember correctly " someone in and around that area.

Any info or help would be good...thanks.

There's a chance it's still out there, but I've just checked the DVLA website for 11 cars I know no longer exist. 9 are still shown but 2 came up with "Vehicle details could not be found". One of these was my Dad's Austin Maxi written off in an accident in 1980 (I was driving it and was hit from behind while stationary) and the other was a Toyota Avensis which I scrapped about 4 years ago. Oddly, a VW411 (thoroughly stripped for spares and equally thoroughly rotten) which I scrapped the same day as the Toyota and with the same scrapyard is still shown.
On the other hand I have 3 Type 4s (2 projects, 1 for spares) which have been off the road since before SORN came in. All of them are shown on the MoT Check website although they won't be counted in "how many left". So REY 148K might just be lying in a barn somewhere.
